you want to include people taking their own life - its their body, their choice and has nothing to do with stats on violence including guns

Piss-poor excuse. A gunshot killed all those people whether by suicide or murder. They're dead irrespective of the motivation. I hear this 'but suicide' nonsense every time the subject of gun violence comes up, as if it makes any difference. Dead is dead; a bullet killed them. 47,000 dead from gunshot vs. 22. Guess where I feel safer.

UK has murders and suicides - they just use other things than guns

Fact is, its not the choice of weapons behind violence after all

UK isn't as violent a nation as the USA is, that's true ... but when someone wants to murder someone in UK or take their own life? They get a weapon and they do it. The type of weapons is not the source of the core issue

Suicide is violence towards yourself, so suicide with a gun is a form of gun violence. It should be counted accordingly.

This argument only works if you thought that suicide via gun and suicide via literally any other method had the same success rates. Which is nonsensical to the point where anyone reading your post has to assume that you are arguing in bad faith.

I could have bet you would avoid his question- which IS directly relevant to your "gun violence".
