Most poor people In the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Remember, I'm kinda going on the fact that Blacks are twice as likely to be on the Gov teat than whites

And they're a minority compared to whites(wink)

then you are unaware that there are more white people receiving government assistance than african Americans

many are without internet and computers in their homes. without a smart phone, how will their children be able to perform research to accomplish their homework assignments?

Schools in our area are giving out assignment packets that can be picked up and dropped off for such students in our area. So, we can do more of that, or press them into service making hand sanitizer and face masks.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

In most of the rest of the world it's not uncommon for poor people to starve to death. Even the homeless in the U.S are not starving to death.

Utterly irrelevant to what I stated. Thanks fer tryin'!

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Poor people are not struggling enough to warrant more of my money being seized by the government. We have some of the most comfortable poor in the world. If you can't sort out the handouts poor people need with the trillions in taxes already being seized then maybe the solution isn't to take more. Maybe throwing money at people that don't know how to manage their money isn't going to help.

thought you were doing ok as a business owner

next i see that the government is seizing your money

they only do that to debtors who have financial obligations remaining unpaid to the federal government

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

You don't understand that your solution of taking more of my money isn't going to fix the problem of poor people not knowing how to manage money. There is plenty of money floating around. The problem is their ignorance, not a lack of money. Giving them more money to waste isn't going to increase their savings.

with all that money floating around why are you not earning more of it to offset the taxes that concern you?

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

The largest demographic of poor people are children, yeah, they keep on making the same bad judgement calls you claim justified their misery.

give em a box to stand on and forget those ancient child labor laws

damn ungrateful children, expecting to have food, clothing, and shelter without working for it

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Mismanagement is the word you are looking for!

You can't mismanage what you don't have. So, why don't they have it? Because they spend it in advance of earning it, then get sucked in to payday loans. 2 of my siblings spent most of their lives doing every stupid thing imaginable. Interest charged on debt for things you don't need is fiscal poison. And it isn't just our poor, our middle class are trying to spend themselves into poverty,....

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

ignorance

or

confusion

Thank you for selecting one of my posts for your signature line. Seriously, thank you very much. I am flattered.

The gist of that line is that Obama had so many sycophants that one supposed used black face themselves.

When I was young, it was even common for normal TV stations to produce such programs. Back in those days comedy was funny.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

How many struggling young people making less than $15/hr have you seen with a $500 phone? Expensive clothes? A car out of their price range? How many of them could choose to live somewhere cheaper, eat for cheaper and cut non-essentials to save money? How many of them bitch about money while wasting countless hours browsing social media or watching Netflix? Most "poor" people in the U.S have no concept of what it really means to be poor and struggling. Our "poor" live better than the middle class of many countries. Even our homeless have it pretty good by global standards. Most "poor" people in the U.S are simply terrible at managing their finances. They expect more than they can actually afford because most of them are entitled morons. They deserve and will receive none of my pity.
Anyone who would spend this much time hurling vitriol at the downtrodden and disfranchised is more than likely down on their luck themselves and is merely vocalizing their self-hatred.

He is taking his anecdotal anger towards his parents and projecting it on others. Classic case of projection and anger.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Poor Americans have it worse than most of the developed world because of the cost of healthcare, housing, and education. Our quality of food sucks and we have a lower standard of living. There is a huge divide between the billionaires and what is left of the middle class and the working poor. The American dream is now a myth with each generation being worse than their parents.

:twocents::twocents: How many jobs do people have to work now to support themselves. Many teachers in the south are working 2 jobs. Fifteen per hour is not a lot of money to live on if you don't live with your parents or want healthcare. They aren't called the "working poor" for nothing.
Yes they might have a phone - think about how much your basic cell phone costs these days. We hardly use a land line anymore.
So unless you've g-you - have walked a mile in their shoes as they say - you have absolutely no clue what they have to do to make ends meet.

I know I know - pull yourself up by your bootstraps. What if you can't afford the boots??

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

What a sad and shallow country we live in if that's truly the whole point. Either way you haven't addressed my argument. The "poor" in America do it to themselves. Saying "The point is to buy." does not justify their spending more than they can afford to spend. The point is not to live outside your means and then complain about how bad things are and about how you have no way out of the situation you've put yourself in.

How do you know?? You're sitting there with your white male privilege?? Judgmental much??

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

You sure?

First of all, you ever heard of Medicaid?

You ever heard of section 8 housing?

You ever heard of free Breakfast/lunches) Gov grants etc.....?

We won't even get into the EITC(LOL) (Massive wealth redistribution)

Keep the faith

Do you know what it takes to qualify for Medicaid??
Probably not - and it depends on the state.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

It's bigotry to hold people accountable for their own bad decisions? It's bigotry to not accept the victim status of people living in one of the most comfortable nations on Earth? By and large poor people have dug their own graves and choose to stay in them.

It's bigotry to generalize. We are most definitely NOT one of the most comfortable nations on Earth.

Mandatory finance classes in highschool would probably help. Also if you give somebody that can't manage money more welfare they will just mismanage that too and not be any better for it. Ever read those stories about poor people that won the lottery and lost it all because they're financially ignorant? Being broke in this country most of the time is the result of terrible financial choices. In most cases welfare isn't actually helping anything. We should be limiting it a lot.

By chance are you pro-life??

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

This post is a contradiction. Your title uses the word "poor" but your post describes entitled young people living beyond their means. They may be broke a lot, but they are certainly not poor and should not be placed in the same category.

I work with the impoverished and the homeless in Nashville, TN and they certainly do not have iphones, designer clothes, and they do not even have cheap cars, much less expensive ones. They certainly do not enjoy Netflix. Many have no idea what Netflix is. It is an all too common misconception that people are poor or homeless because they are poor money managers, lazy or ignorant. The cycle of poverty is complex and you might be interested to look into it without making blanket judgments that show an ignorance of facts.

While there are some people who do take advantage of the system and some people who are lazy and do not want to work, they are individuals. Everyone has their own story and if you are not out there talking to people and finding out truth, you should not be speaking on it as if it is factual because you are hurting those who truly need help and will now be unfairly judged.

:applaud:applaud:applaud Very well said.

I consider taxation a seizure of my money.

The more I make the more they take. I shouldn't care though, huh?

I worked my ass off for my success. It wasn't handed to me because of my sex or skin color.
