Send a 'very' strong message to any/all who wish to destroy democracy by plotting/interfering/participating in the peaceful transfer of power from a defeated POTUS to a duly POUTUS-Elect.
And AFTER the elections? Go anything but slogans?

There'll be no reform until the MAGA-its's die out or ousted from office.
True

They had 2 years 2016-2018 with full control to tackle immigration. Wasted it on attempts to repeal Healthcare for working class folks.

I picked inflation as I am nearing a decision on whether to retire or not, and the way money has inflated concerns me for both the value of my savings and both of my pensions once retired.

But this is also an issue with the overall economy, which is my #2 issue, Illegal Migration, my #3 issue, 2A Rights #4.

As for voting rights and Democracy? IMO they are of concern as long as Democrats retain any control at any level of government, much less the Federal.

If we can elect a Republican Congress, that should be ameliorated temporarily.

I retired eleven years ago, at 62.

I had never even thought about retirement, when an accident changed everything. I wasn't injured but in determining that, they found a trove of issues, like heart disease. It was strongly recommended I cease working, or die. (I had had a light stroke.) I had to sell my business at the worst possible time.

It is the best life I have ever known. I don't have a lot of disposable income, but I live in one the most expensive & fascinating cities in the world, a short walk to the beach and a 5 min bus ride into downtown free. I have snow capped mountains in my view and the ocean on any given day and live in one of the most beautiful areas of the world in a country that has never started a war.

I have restarted a few hobbies, especially photography, and art and found new friends and absolute beauty in some very unexpected places.

I highly recommend it.

Sounds like heaven. I am so happy for you. i wish everyone the same bliss that @Fearandloathing has found.

Let's do this right. What is the most important issue for you going into the midterms?
I wanted to vote for both democracy and voting rights. That election/voting reform bill is a vital step towards protecting democracy, but so is that election certification law update, any legislative fix for gerrymandering, monies provided to to states to modernize their voting machines and software programs, vigorous efforts to investigate and prosecute seditious conspiracy, and at all levels of governance and the defeat of all MAGA/ republican candidates who run for office.

I do wish you had included support for climate change treaty and legislation and ACA part 2 bill to finish the health care reform promise of Barack Obama.

Haven't cast my vote yet. Democracy and voting rights are my main issues, both of will which address the other issues.
IMO, democracy is voting rights, and voting right are democracy.

Well, being female, and having two daughters abortion rights top my list but I feel strongly about Democracy as well. Social equality is high on my list.

I've had the not-so-pleasurable chance to experience just how far into women's healthcare abortion bans will take you as my daughter was getting diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder and the abortion ban was cutting the best medication normally used for Lupus because it could cause a spontaneous abortion.

Women shouldn't have to live like this, it's barbaric that we are being denied healthcare because of some Christian politicians. I still can't believe the SC gave the states the right to make people less free.

I will never, ever, vote Republican again as long as I live and neither will anyone in my family.

We got what we got. A SC dominated by the God Squad. This is why MANY evangelicals looked past Trumps immorality, and McConnel tolerated the POS.

Getting those SC picks was the biggest priority for many, and they are life time appointments. Some of those judges are quite young, we are stuck with it for at least two decades.

How is something as cyclical as inflation permanent?
Cyclical in the sense that the rate of increase varies which results in a perpetually growing cumulative effect.
1776 to 1913 the average inflation rate was 0.09%, resulting in a cumulative change of 13.79%. In 1913 $1.14 bought what $1 bought in 1776.
Inflation rate in 1776 was 12.99%, 1777 21.84%, 1778 30.19%, 1779 -11.59%, 1780 12.30%, 1781 -18.98%...

1913 to 2022 the average inflation rate was 3..17%, resulting in a cumulative change of 2,891.63%. In 2022 $29.92 bus what $1 bought in 1913.
The cyclical inflation rate history from 1913 to current can be found here.

If the Fed target of 2% was maintained $8.68 would buy what $1 bought in 1913.

Eh....I am old enough to recall the REAL inflation of the 1970's.
I borrowed money from my company retirement savings plan, which I had to repay myself with interest, to deposit into a bank account paying 18% interest. A win win, IMO.
I worked in Carters campaign, though I ended up not voting for him, and as always had to find ways to benefit from the actions of our government.

Carter is a great humanatian, but terrible President. Too honest lol

Voting out Republicans.

Democracy. Normally I’d be more concerned with getting progressives/socialists into office (a few DSA candidates did win some primaries) but this time around I’d be driving around with a Joe Manchin car wrap if that’s what it took to keep the GOP from a majority.

Something else.

Re-shoring our industries away from the People's Republic of China and back to the United States, Mexico and Canada.

I guess that is technically "Economy" but mixed with "Foreign Policy" and "Geopolitics."

While I agree that’s an issue, I feel like it gets overblown. Some stuff I think should 100% be a priority (like building domestic transistor fabs) but generally speaking the US has an advantage compared to most of the world when it comes to having some of the best companies in the world based in the US. Many of our firms have revenue streams similar to those of small countries. Unemployment is low right now, so clearly we don’t necessarily need THOSE jobs and have enough jobs in other industries to fill in the gaps. The rust belt obviously suffered a lot and we certainly should have done more for them during the transition period, but we are more in danger to losing jobs to automation than offshoring at this point.

Something else
righting the wrong that is Citizens United

that the haves can shape our nation's policies against the have nots impacts every aspect of our country

until we disallow the legal purchase of politicians, our nation will continue to have the best government money can buy
