Count me in the, "MAGA is a threat to democracy" column!

Glad to see these numbers. Calling a spade a spade is a good thing.
 
Trump is a force to be reckoned with.

All attempts to destroy him (so far) have proved futile.

Yet dems are still happy to pit Mr. Magoo (Joe Biden) against him.

You view this in an archetypal bad guy vs. good guy way. It’s pretty comical.

No one but you thinks Biden and Trump are gearing up for a Hell in a Cell match.

What people see instead is nuance. They see two diseased political parties. Decades of neoliberalism on both sides of the aisle. The fruits of NAFTA. A working class left behind. Disgusting amounts of money in politics that cloud our legislators judgement.. and that’s being charitable to them. Stubborn infighting paralyzing our legislative body. They see an incredibly resilient framework of government being tested every day.

Americans see people like Meadows, Trump, and Giuliani willing to throw 300 years of history out the window for their own self interest and cynical power plays. Americans know something is wrong. And they know Trump isn’t the hero of this story.

The poll says otherwise.

America is against him. The only futility here are Trump's continued attempts at escaping accountability. The American people will certify Trump's destruction. And then they'll be laughing at you.

Disagreement is a threat to democracy? No it's a threat to an authoritarian party. And that's a good thing.

I don't think they are as a whole. Don't get me wrong. People like Mike Flynn are 100% fascists. But, they would need to get rid of a lot of people at the state, local, and even federal level before the whole party wanted to go full dictator like Flynn and Trump would.
 
House Minority Leader McCarthy is a Trump fascist.
 
Isn't it amazing that a guy like Trump, who hasn't been in office for 18 months, is still the center of attention in American politics?
For so many people to still be in favor of Trump, it says a lot about the ruling party.
The Democrats are desperate to stay in power. So they must demonize the opposition any way they can because they are on the losing side of history right now.

Well. I think FPOTUS is looking to fly the coup......to a country that will not extradite.
 
I have a few takeaways from that poll.

Fifty-eight percent of respondents in the two-day poll - including one in four Republicans - said Trump's "Make America Great Again" movement is threatening America's democratic foundations.

...The Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 60% of Republicans don't think Trump's MAGA movement represents the majority of the party.

The first result seems to indicate 75% of Republicans as MAGA, which seems to be a very steady poll result going back a year.

The second question is interesting. Apparently, shown in this poll and virtually all others, MAGA is a 75% majority of Republicans, yet 60% think MAGA is a minority in the party.

It looks like a lot of people unaware they are MAGA.
 
Trump organized a violent coup and is being investigated by the DOJ. Trump stole secret documents from the US government. Could these be reasons Trump is in the news?

You forgot the fact that Biden beat him like a drum during the elections.
If anything, Trump is a gift for Biden and the Democrats.

I must have missed something. Where has Trump beaten Mr Magoo? Right now it looks like Mr Magoo holding pat on a royal flush and DT with a pair of deuces praying for a 3rd one on the river.

...at this point Trump is just playing to make sure he isn't sent "up the river"....

Has there ever been a person in US history involved in more litigation (over 4,000 lawsuits) or subject to as many criminal investigations by so many law enforcement agencies?

The MAGAs are a threat. 75% of Republicans. It's about 25% of the electorate.

There are plenty of people who aren't MAGA themselves, but don't see MAGA as a threat. They're uninformed and could be a threat, but I wouldn't include them with MAGAs.
