I can't remember if I have ever come across that one. Never stop learning.

Mussulman = Turkish and Persian modification of Muslim.

I looked the wrong word up at first. Muselmann = German term widely used by concentration camp prisoners to refer to inmates who were on the verge of death from starvation, exhaustion, and despair.

I assumed I was waaaay off.

In French it is still Musulman [male], Musulmane [female]

which term do you prefer?

Though I've read "Moslem" in some reading materials (perhaps from fiction novels)...................I just thought it was an "old" way of saying it.

old maybe …. but not wrong

I am not sure how Arabic has no vowels. Doest that aggressive phrase "Allah Akbar" start with a vowel?
some mean …. there are no letters for those vowels

but there are ..

It was "Moslem". Then the woke folks came and told us "Moslem" don't sit right with followers of Mahomet. That it is not up to us how we wanna call it, or pronounce it; we must shift gears from "o" to "u".
