No, as long as Transnistria remains an issue the EU will drag their feet, let's not forget how the EU has been dragging their feet whem it comes to the membership applications of several Balkan nations, and look how these Balkan nations in question are starting to abandon the idea of being part of the West, because why wouldn't they after applying for 20 years and getting nothing.

Always been Putin's plan. Soon as I heard of Transnistria it was clear it would be a cause of future headaches. Moldova should just create a border around the place and try to join NATO. They won't survive anywhere near as long as Ukraine.

I don't think they promote imperialism - it's just that Moscow is patient and determined. Putin has a long term strategy to undermine these nations - Georgia / Moldova / Ukraine into becoming vassal states and the West has no real answer.
