Minnesota suspected assassin Vance Boelter captured alive after intense manhunt for fatal shooting of Dem pol, spouse: report

I drive a lot. Most cars leave little doubt as to politics.
This statement has me super curious. I'm not sure if I'm exact on what you mean, but if what you're saying is you can guess someone's political being based on what they drive. I would love to think what my two vehicles say about me.

I know you already know the answer because I put my political lean as my title up there today.

But who would someone who drives a Kimco Super 8 scooter with 20,000 miles on it (85mpg!) Be?

My other fairly rarely moved vehicle is a 4cyl teeny Diesel truck (35mpg!).

The truck has two stickers on the back window. One of them is Bender the robot and the other one is a musical staff with a fermata over it.

If that's a barometer, then most cars would be an unknown.
Disagree. I can't go a hundred feet without knowing someone's alignment from their automobile. All my car has is the Liver Bird, and you can draw some conclusions about me from that.
I merely use it as a personal example from the circles I move in which I can confidently extrapolate. Everybody has different circles though which I why I challenge you to look at yours.
It's unnecessary, because your division of the world into real vs online is unfounded.

Your point about alleged is well made, and I've actually been trying to use it, but it's become hard actually for both of those cases. They seem fairly clear. That said, strange things could still happen.

And yeah, the comment about kin, I watched the long version of the interview with his roommate, and I kind of felt really sad for that guy, because he seemed to me to be really torn up about it. So far, that's the only expression of any sympathy anyone has had, and even that was laced with disgust.

The conclusion I would reach is that you want others to know some of your fealties. And that's my point. There's not some magic that separates the online from the off. We're all humaning, all the time.

It's the same with me. The one thing you know from my truck is that I support Liverpool Football Club.

If you are one of the hundreds of millions of EPL fans, or the billions of (actual) football fans, you probably know LFC supporters are routinely "leftwing".

To reinforce this point I'm going to invite @venice_ca to chime in on what a Lazio supporter's politics might be.

Very interested in finding out who has helped him.

Probably nobody.

Wouldn't be surprised to find that there were behavioral warning signs that this guy was eventually going to snap. I could be wrong - maybe he bottled his feelings all in, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that a few people close to him saw some warning signs, made mental notes, but probably didn't think anything of it at the time.

Lots of people are political, even angrily so. But it's another thing entirely to act on those feelings to the point of dressing up as a cop, driving to some stranger's house, and shooting them to death. I suspect something happened in his life that made him feel injured and powerless. Violence is often about conflict resolution, but in cases like this, it's about the resolving problems of the self, whatever those problems are.

It's manifest as political violence, which it is, of course. But someone just threw the rest of his laugh away. Mentally healthy people with something to lose don't do that, no matter how pissed off at the libs they are.

I read his wife was stopped with passports and cash. I don't if anything further came of it.

This has nothing to do with both sides cpwill. This is a story about a right winger who decided to kill Democrats. Don't be a script follower and start yapping about how everyone is equally bad.

This particular story is absolutely about a right wing dude who apparently decided F Democracy, and started murdering he believed were his "enemies". He may be surprised to learn that the Lord had a few things to say both about murder and vengeance.

And the next time a left wing dude decides to gun down a Jewish couple, or set a holocaust survivor on fire, or kill a health insurance executive, should right wing posters on this board use that to claim that the violence comes exclusively from the left, then they deserve to be reminded of this guy. If they want to claim that left wing media or political leaders are responsible the next time a Bernie bro decides to shoot up a Republican softball practice or set fire to a Jewish politicians' house with the family inside, then they deserve to be asked how much culpability right wing media has for this guy.

Because only the sides can ultimately police their extremes in a way that will lead to deescalation... but they can't do that if they insist their extremes don't exist, or aren't a problem.

I hope not - sincerely. But we see a real copy-cat phenomenon with school shooters and it's not exactly impossible to imagine the same happening to assassins; especially if they end up being lauded by a small set of their own tribe.

I think this is one of the most interesting hanging details. I still think what happened was Boelter contacted his wife... said something like: "get these things together... can't explain right now", and she started to. OR... less likely she was involved as a conspirator. And even less likely would be the roomate(s) who I do not think was involved. But who knows?

From the beginning this was fairly weird. Bogglesome. And it's much more clear now, but STILL weird.

So far this has lone nut written all over it.

If you didn't want to talk about a right winger killing Democrats so you could stand on a soapbox and yap senselessly about false dichotomies, strawmen and nonsequitur, all you had to do was say so.

I mean, that is what you are doing right? Bothsiding things up so you don't have to talk about the right winger who killed Democrats?

I have no idea what that is so would have no clue.

It's okay to disagree.

Whether those pardons are, as you say, a bridge too far is fodder for endless debate here on this forum. But I am willing to bet that pardoning this douche would be a bridge too, too, too, too, too far. It's just another league.
you have never learned to not underestimate just how insane Don is.

Lmao - boy, this is NOT looking good for people whose goal is to dismiss this guy as just another crazy man without any political allegiance.

I accept that you don't, actually, have a counter to the point that, only the sides can ultimately police their extremes in a way that will lead to deescalation... but they can't do that if they insist their extremes don't exist, or aren't a problem, as we have seen in this thread.

Lmao - boy, this is NOT looking good for people whose goal is to dismiss this guy as just another crazy man without any political allegiance.

Since I have seen exactly zero people here that believe that strawman, I think everyone will be OK.

Exactly NO ONE here has suggested he does not have a political allegiance.

But many of us are not so stupid as to believe that allegiance is meaningful in regards to judging the rest of conservatives.

That trick only works on people who cannot think past a fallacy...

It goes like this:

1. The shooter called himself a Republican.
2. Therefore all Republicans want to kill Democrat lawmakers.

It is almost like saying (entirely hypothetically mind you):
1. Debate Politics has at least one psychopathic douche bag who takes pleasure in making simplistic arguments to taunt those he hates.
2. Therefore DP is exclusively simple minded psychopathic douche bags.

We know that is not true! Even this heated thread is full of good hearted souls on all sides! I have been conversing with MANY of you! And agreeing! I am an "Allsider" after all! I tweaked it a little to make it even MORE inclusive!

So no need to worry @Hatuey. We are all going to be OK!

Huh? There are tons of right wingers here claiming it is just a crazy man. Do you want examples?

Wait, you gonna own up on lying about me having a sock?

A counter to your whataboutism? It is just whataboutism with some bothsiderism thrown in. Are you gonna be "policing" your neighborhood for murderous right wingers or is this policing just online lip service?

I forgot to answer this one... here ya go..

Nope.

If a person thought this argument out even one step further, that person would clamp their teeth together and never share it with another living person:

"Leftists" block traffic sometimes, honoring free speech,
Peaceably to assemble doesn't mean while breaking other laws. Do you also think it's legal to speed and run stop signs on the way to cast your vote because voting is a right?
petition for redress and freedom of assembly. Redhat goons think their AngerChrist sanctions murder, and act as if anointed by the Inquisition.

So, cool. Thanks for making it plain.

I drive a 1976 chevy 'heavy half' 4x4 pickup and a fairly new Suburu

Am i a walking (rolling) contradiction?
