When I said, we will reelect Obama, I mean the country will, not liberals. You are correct that liberals do not choose our candidates, neither does the far-right. If we did we would not have the moderate Obama as president, we would have a liberal as president now.
It is the moderates predominately, and the left or right just tend to tip it in one direction or another. That is why we have moderates as President time after time, like both our candidates in 2008, and will again next year with Romney vs Obama. Moderates are not going for your far-right (secede from the Union) Perry, which is why he has had the good sense not even to enter the race.
The Appleton School District just saved more than $3 million on its health insurance plan simply by going out to bid for the first time in six years, according to the Appleton Post Crescent. And without a doubt, it was Gov. Scott Walker’s collective bargaining changes and state budget cuts that prompted the savings.
Students protected from cuts
Another Wisconsin school district with large savings due to taking advantage of the changes offered in Act 10. If only Milwaukee school districts had not rushed through their contract, think how much money and teacher's jobs they could have saved.
Curious. This is an editoral, so it doesn't mean the facts are correct. But assuming they are, does success in one place equal overall success?
does success in one place equal overall success?
A better question, Does failure in one place mean overall failure?
I think it's fairly obvious that it would be easy for MPS to save similar money if they had not rushed through the union contract - by swithing from WEA insurance and requiring teachers contributions to health insurance premium and pensions. We know that if the unions just agreed to one of those three (contributions to pensions) over 200 teaching jobs would be saved in MPS.
Walker gave the districts the tools to handle the budget cuts. Those places that are using the tools are saving boat loads of money and keeping class sizes the same or decreasing them. Those places that decided they wanted to protect the unions are suffering the consequences of those decisions. Short term it will be painful for them. Long term it will be good for them.
The answer to both questions would be nice.
I would like to see a sound analysis, prefeable from someone without a dog in the fight. I'll see what I can find, and if you have something I would love to look at it.
I would like to see a sound analysis
Look no further then the MPS superintendent indicating that if the MPS teachers union just contributed 5.8% to their pensions many of the layoffs would not occur and the unions decision not to cooperate to save jobs of the cheaper, less senior teachers.
Personally I prefer Detroit's choice to Milwaukee's
you need to search the internet to discover the effects of requiring teachers to contribute to their bennies?
LOL!
mister bobb doesn't google---he just rips up those contracts and pink slips the entire district while simultaneously auctioning off the middle schools to the highest private bidder
you know, if it weren't for walker undoing collective bargaining in wisconsin, kaukauna and appleton would still be underwater and paying unnecessary millions of taxpayer dollars for employee coverage
good thinking
