mike lee: It's 'Overreach' To Arrest Anti-Abortion Activist For Assaulting Elderly Man Twice

Do you have a video we can look at showing the guy there to "harass" women?

What does your post have to do with my post about someone being an activist? I didn't mention video in that post. You need a video to know what an "activist" is?

You asserted he was there to "harass" women.

Show your work.

What do you think he was doing there? He's a vehement anti-abortionist. Do you think he was handing out candy? Talking about the most recent episode of The Bachelor?

I don't know how he acts or was acting that day with those going to the clinic, and NEITHER DO YOU.

The whole notion that he was "harassing" women is pure speculation until otherwise shown, as is the supposed actions of the "escort".

I didn't claim to know how he was acting that day. But unlike you, I know what "pro-life activists" do, as I have posted on this board from my own personal experience of these people being outside of my own doctor's office.

What do you think he was doing there? You do know that engaging women for no reason is harassing them.

You don't claim to know how he was acting, yet you "know what "pro-life activists" do". Implying that is what this gentleman was doing.
What do you think he was doing there?
What I THINK he was doing is not relevant.
You do know that engaging women for no reason is harassing them.
Yes I do.

Because the smart people with experience know how these morons who hang out protesting abortion act. Maybe one day you'll know what we know. It's harassment. Fact. When you're a woman who comes out of your doctor's office and the Bible-thumpers are outside screeching Scripture at you, let me know.

We do know that at least one anti choice person is violent.

We do know that while he was there, he pushed a 72 year old man to the ground twice causing injuries that needed medical help.

We do know that in the past the anti choice people have planted bombs to blow up clinics.

We do know that in the past anti choice people have murdered innocent doctors and injured innocent people.

We do know that in the past the anti choice people have harassed and bullied innocent women who only wanted to get health care they need.

We do know that the anti choice people have been so abusive and gone so far past normal boundaries that a federal law had to be passed to get anti choice people to stop violating other people's rights.

We do know none of the anti choice people are there to make friends or help anyone.

Too bad that so much of what you "know" isn't so!

What isn't so?

You mean Dr Tiller was never murdered? He's still alive?

You mean the federal laws about protesting in front of clinics don't exist?

Just saying I what I know isn't so, doesn't make what you said true.

Back it up.

What did I post that wasn't true? What do I know that "isn't so?"

Please be specific.

This cat attained martyrdom, when as an serial agitator he had to know that you must keep your hands of the harassed.
I doubt he gets to do the full 11 years.
I don’t think any of the insurrectionest got 11 years.

There was one of them that got 10 years in prison.

Precisely.

Apparently, this was a guy who prays there with his rosary beads, and the scuffle occurred when the "escort" was harassing this guy's 12 year old son and the shoves were to get him away from the 12 year old.

Now, who knows what actually happened, because neither you nor I were there, but apparently, there is a factual dispute, and that this may well not have been cowardly or an ambush, and wasn't really much of an "ass kicking."

Which side thinks it's morally and should be legally acceptable to punch people who they think are Nazis, racists or white supremacists? Which side thinks violence to serve the cause of social justice is acceptable?
It's really simple.

Getting in someone's face<pushing in the eyes of the law.

That's it. Escalated with a push. Thus you get arrested

Ok so what crimes will republicans not object to the criminal being arrested for their crime?

If it had been a 40 something pro choice person assaulting a 72 year old anti choice person TWICE I'm sure the republicans wouldn't think it's overreach to arrest the criminal who assaulted the 72 year old.

But since it's reversed, mike lee believes it's overreach to arrest the anti choice person who assaulted a 72 year old man twice.

What has happened to the Republican Party?

Every time one of these mother****ers complains about themselves or someone else being arrested for committing a crime, it reveals what they really think about the law - it's for other, lesser people, in their eyes.

Not for a federal 11-year felony. Maybe misdemeanor simple assault, unless there are extenuating circumstances, like someone is harassing your 12 year old kid. Most normal people would suggest that a father ought to push away a person who is harassing a 12 year old. Here, the facts are clearly different than what has been reported in the left leaning media, so we can't discount the possibility that the cops and the district attorney who declined to prosecute weren't totally crazy.

Shrug. Federal law...maybe the judge will issue a lesser sentence. Maybe they won't. Don't put your hands on people

Sure, it should be a second degree misdemeanor, but frankly, if someone were to badger my daughter, I'm not waiting for the cops. I'll shove the guy away. Anyone who wouldn't do the same is nuts, and not a good father.

Enjoy being arrested then.
You don't put your hands on people.
Smh you people never learn.

LOL - I wouldn't be arrested under a circumstance where someone was harassing my daughter, buddy. That's called "defense of others." I am allowed to use reasonable force to repel a threat to my daughter, if I reasonably believe that she is being threatened. If they want to arrest me and figure it out, I would be very happy to be arrested in defense of my daughter. What good father would not?

No you literally would be arrested if you put your hands on me.

Your defense of he said some words would not work and I'd push for a more hard sentence since you didn't learn your lesson

first you say you wouldn't be arrested then you say you would be happy too?

Not if you were harassing my daughter at the time and the cop saw it.

Well, it depends, because I wouldn't shove you just for "some words." I would shove you if you were up in my kid's space and harassing her, which is different. And, if I had to be arrested for doing so, I gladly would be.

first you say you wouldn't be arrested then you say you would be happy too?
Sure, both are the case. I think the reason I wouldn't be arrested is the same reason the guy in the OP wasn't originally arrested by the cops and why the DA originally declined to press charges - because if some asshole is in a 12 year old kid's face in a threatening manner, and that asshole gets "shoved" there is hardly a cop in the world that would think that deserved arrest. HOWEVER, if I happened to be arrested for that act, I would go gladly, and I would be happy to plead my case before a judge.

What's ridiculous is federal law enforcement getting involved over a shove, and charging someone with an 11 year felony. It's ****ing ridiculous. Come on, people.

Yes yes you would. Se you are the type that would claim a normal conversation as harrassment.
regardless of that you would be wrong. Its called escalation.

Your kids space is subjective and naturally you would be arrested.

And now we have come full circle as to why this dude was arrested amd thus justified.

Will you learn anything from this? No

Nah. You guys need to learn consequences for your actions.
You all feel laws shouldn't apply to you.

If I was a judge and knew about your attitude I'd give out a longer sentence.
