American politics are so dumb...

"House Speaker Mike Johnson abruptly walked offstage on Day One of the Republican National Convention after a teleprompter malfunctioned.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is now my honor to introduce the attorney general," Johnson said to the crowd in Milwaukee, before adding, "And there goes the teleprompter."

The speaker exited the stage seconds later, and it remained empty as the camera cut away and Sixwire, a country-rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, stepped in to fill the void." https://www.newsweek.com/mike-johnson-teleprompter-republican-national-convention-joe-biden-1925633

1) where is your link?

2) It's not like he was mid speech. He was introducing the speaker, who would be using the teleprompter. The speaker hadn't started. It makes sense to pause the program, and start it once the technical issue had been resolved.

Some people look for anything to piss themself.

You do know that Trump uses TelePrompTers for all his speeches, right?

Perhaps you should search more carefully.
Per forum rules, you have to have a link to the article you are referencing. There are two hyperlinks (cut and pasted in), neither goes to the article.

Like Johnson, I don't speak in public without a teleprompter anymore.
He wasn't the speaker. He was introducing the speaker. They paused, fixed the technical issue, then started again. Not a big deal.

Neither should you.

Um, sure? Most speakers do, especially at big events like a convention. Which is why they paused and started the program after the teleprompter was working.

Trump uses teleprompters, but he regularly ignores them and goes off on wild tangents which are, in my opinion, the best parts of his speeches.

For example, I'd rather be electrocuted by a sinking boat than eaten by a shark. Learned that from Trump.

Whoops,

Yeah but he just scampered off the stage not even quick enough to tell a joke.

Oops missed an 'L' in tell had to edit or risk abuse.

Just more Republican/“Conservative” double standard, given the criticism towards Democrats using TelePrompTers that began way back with Obama.

Sure, American's are quick to jump on anyone who has a moment of weakness, makes a mistake or folds under pressure or says something unpopular.

With loads of criticism and snark.

Makes me think that we're a society with very low self esteem always looking for the misfortune of someone else to make fun of and ridicule.

You think this is uniquely American?

You want to see loads of criticism and snark, go find the thread about the widow of the man killed at the assignation attempt on Trump and read... so much low esteem going on.
