Mike Huckabee appointed ambassador to Israel

Here is what he has to say in regards to Palestinian rights:

HUCKABEE: There are certain words I refuse to use. There is no such thing as a West Bank. It's Judea and Samaria. There's no such thing as a settlement. They're communities. They're neighborhoods. They're cities. There's no such thing as an occupation. The only occupiers were the Babylonians, the Assyrians, the Turks, the Brits, the Romans. They were occupiers. The Jews are the occupants.


So there you have it. Trump has appointed a White Christian Nationalist to an important ambassadorship whereby he is using his interpretation of the Bible as the ultimate authority of land ownership in the area. And then we wonder why there is ongoing resentment of the Palestinians towards the Netanyahu Israelis. It’s going to be a tough four years.
 
So are you denying the right of Jews to the land they live on?
 
Huckabee is the ambassador to Israel and is a strong supporter of Israel and the Jewish people. I think his concern for their future makes him a great choice.

He's saying that Huckabee is in line with the very worst of Likud, which wants to go way beyond Israel's mere right to exist; like Ben Gvir and Kushner, who want Israel to take everything and aren't particularly concerned where the Palestinians end up and what happens to them.

Have any of you watched Mike Huckabee when he speaks? Has anyone noticed he has "laundry mouth?"

For those who may not know, "laundry mouth" is a term often used among law enforcement to describe the facial/mouth movements of someone who is high on cocaine. Now, I'm not saying he's on dope, I am just saying it looks like it. The Geekin' Deacon? LOL!

I have noticed that he sells all sort of “supplements” on TV that are nothing more than scams to get people to sign on for large monthly payments for a bottle of worthless pills. He will lend his so-called “authority” to any grifter that pays him well enough. As with most White Christian Nationalist leaders, he will grift away if it results in more money in his pocket. Dishonesty is like an aura around him.
 
Sounds like all Huckabee is doing is rejecting the language of haters of Israel. That leftists are somehow upset all of the sudden over the refusal to use certain words (illegal immigrants, radical Islam etc) is, well, weird.

Huckabee throwing a tantrum and refusing to “accept” reality doesn’t change the fact Israel’s settlements are blatantly illegal under international law.

Not really imo, he is rightly commenting on the occupied territories and the clue is in the name.

Palestine is illegally occupied by Israel. All the settlements and settlers are illegal. The enforced apartheid system they are operating and enforcing there is illegal.

The Israeli state violates virtually every law governing occupations.

If you don't understand that and condemn it, you have no right talking about the crimes of others.

International law is the language that's being used and despite you whining about it's use, it wasn't written just for Israel.

International law was constructed by international experts aimed at trying to stop repeats of the horrors of WW2.

He is an “end times” Christian who believes that Israel has to be attacked “from the north”, whatever that means, as a condition for the return of Jesus Christ. Yes, an extremist White Christian Nationalist will now be spreading the gospel for four years that anything that Israel does to the Palestinians, no matter how harsh, is merely fulfilling the word of God. In other words, Huckabee is a Christian extremist equal to the Mulsim extremists of that region. It’s the Crusades all over again.

Yes it does and nobody on the Left that I am aware of who is a serious commentator on either international law or the Israeli/Palestine conflict says those things are " ok" ?

That's why the arrest warrants from the ICC were for 3 Palestinians and 2 Israelis. You know, that " rabidly antisemitic UN "?

It's actually you and Huckabee that are the ones undermining international law here by misrepresenting it's applicability and supporting others who are in breach of it.
