Michael Moore calls Flint a crime scene, demands arrest of Gov. Snyder

Wages are increasing in third world nations. Besides of which before the job they didn't have any money to eat and now they do, so that is an increase in their quality of life.

The river was polluted long before the EPA or other agencies came into existence or anybody gave a damn. I can remember in the 70's when many of these waterways were all but dead. I'm sure the sediments are loaded with toxic waste.

That said the main culprit here is switching to a water supply that is 19 X more corrosive that dissolved antiquated lead pipes.

I don't know about you, but I don't work a (in some situations) 12 hour job just to afford a meal. That's not a true quality standard of living IMO.

It has everything to do with it, as I stated the trash in charge for (decades) set up this mess but now whine the handcuffed janitor can’t clean it up fast enough. Is their something you missed?

The flint river water was not safe to drink.

The problem was that someone decided that flint should get its water from a tainted source.

Handcuffed janitor? These people were hooked up to poisoned water. The person(s) responsible are those who knew and signed on to allowing this to happen.

Gimme a break. Facts are not all in yet and already you are talking about criminal charges. Nobody has a clue as to where this is going.

That's just silly. You're putting your own subjective opinion on what you find acceptable into a discussion about quality of life increases. Did their quality of life increase? Yes, they can afford food due to having a job that provides them the resources necessary to buy food.

Anyway, there is no good evidence to suggest that third world growth hurts first world prosperity.

You're right, I'm putting my own opinion on what I find acceptable to a quality standard of living. It's not silly at all. Anyone here agree that working a 12 hour shift in order to afford a meal is worth their time and effort??? If so, please come out and let us know.

But the more corrosive water of the Flint River (19 X more corrosive) is directly involved in dissolving the lead in the antiquated pipes.

Someone mentioned salinity. Extremely unlikely. More likely it's lower Ph that made the water corrosive. Since Ph is a logrithmic scale going down one numeric value or conversely up one is a 10 fold dfference. Doesn't take much of a Ph change from one water source to another.

For those of us that having swimming pools and spas, we know chlorine and chloromines are most effective in a narrow ph range. Chlorine is used to make drinking water safe.

Additionally precipitated iron removal is most effective in certain Ph ranges. It's critical to decent tasting drinking water.

Yes I agree...........all the facts are not in........ and trust me.......... criminal charges is not my invention/suggestion ........just reporting what's in the news

But if you had been paying attention to the reports you would know how the Snyder Administration tried to cover the lead poisoning of the kids in Flint...........

Maybe you do not know where this story is going.........but you should have a clue as where the fingers are pointing..........


And the issue has other compelling concerns about the legal issues about public administration in Michigan..........

Try using Google.........20 minutes of reading the news will put you at the cutting edge of knowing what's what........

How are elected officials responsible for the mass exodus of manufacturing jobs from Flint and the loss of the tax base that comes with it?

Perhaps you could be a lamb and simply tell me what your overall point is and who you blame for this instead of just repeating what you posted here several times now.

It all starts local. Who passed the buck? Who voted on the switch? Why does the city council have 2 convicted felon members....... and one of them a murderer? Why weren't the locals politicians crying out before the poising happened if they already knew? Any good local leader would have been screaming to the media if it were that much of a concern.

The city was just a gross as any other agency.

Initially,the water leaving the treatment plant had been tested to be 100% drinkable
