This warms my heart. Not the domestic abuse part -- that definitely sucks. I mean the fact that I've always known since I started (and later stopped) following him on Twitter that this guy was a bona fide scumbag, and it warms my heart that I will never have to worry about him being taken seriously as a future Presidential candidate ever again. I'm also happy because the narrative that Trump could only be defeated by a Democrat version of Trump was thoroughly refuted by the results of the the midterm elections, in which not one Democrat ran on Trumpian personality traits. Many Democrats embraced Avenatti because they believed
he was that "fight Trump with Trump" candidate. I believed that we could win on the strength of our messaging and our platforms, and I was right.
Good riddance, Avenatti. You did
one good thing with your life, but apparently that was all you had in you.

For those looking to defend him...seriously, don't. As I said, I followed him on Twitter for a while and I can say he had the same exact malignant narcissistic traits as Trump. He spent all his time attacking everybody, including Democrats, for all offenses real and imagined. He was just all attack, all rage, all day. Maybe that worked for him as a lawyer, but as a statesman those qualities would make him grotesque.
