"Mexico will pay for it."

You're making a fool of yourself.

See post #13. They already have started paying for it.

I’m gonna pay your mortgage from now on, just disregard any letters on the subject.......

The levels of belligerence from Trump and his supporters on this point is so deranged it's beyond imagination.

Like anyone believed there was going to be a ceremony where a giant cheque like a Lottery Winner was going to be handed over to Trump while the angels sang.

Trump said hundreds of times, that Mexico was going to pay for that wall, he said it was going to be easy.

His website outlined various ways in which Mexico would be made to pay for the wall,:

His website stated: https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/Pay_for_the_Wall.pdf

snip

Visa fees: Even a small increase in visa fees would pay for the wall. This
includes fees on border crossing cards, of which more than 1 million are
issued a year.

Why isn't he floating this idea anymore?

From a tweet:

Our border is being breached daily by criminals. We must build a wall & deduct costs from Mexican foreign aid!

Well, he's not saying anything about that anymore, why not?

So what do we have instead of all this?

Trump holding almost a million federal employees hostage in order to get you, the taxpayer to give him $5 billion for his vanity project that he said someone else was going to pay for and that will, by the way, barely pay for anything, he's already backed down on it being "A wall" and his supporters have changed words from "Wall" to "Barrier" to "Border Security".

It's a ****ing joke, don't let them drag you into this clown show of a debate, it's ridiculous and it's a bad joke.

Because Trump is not getting (or even demanding) one dime of "pay for" in his Great Wall Of Trump (GWOT) 'budget' bill.

That is most likely the reason Trump has not declared a "national emergency" which would "repurpose" existing funds to build the GWOT. If he did so then we the sheeple could see exactly what federal spending allocations Trump feels were less important than building (small portions of?) the GWOT and how much per mile the GWOT actually costs.

You don't see McConnell explaining that $5.7B is being taken from federal programs A, B and C to be used instead for funding the GWOT - it is simply being "funded" by additional deficit spending which republicants constantly pretend to oppose.

Is that a yes or no for you?

Trump was conning some rubes by saying that Mexico would pay for a wall. He got them to chant it over and over like a nursery rhyme. I don't think "yes" / "no" applies.

Seriously, what it meant to me is that Trump would never ask me to pay for it. But asking me to pay for it is what Trump is now trying to do. He lied. His cult lied when they repeated his lie.

That's all you have is a typo? :lamo

Nope...I had a question in there as well, but I see you ran away from that. Will you answer it or...?

See post#13. They are already paying for it.

"GWOT"?

I'm not sure you can use that yet. The "global war on terror" hasn't been terminated.

I just gave you an example and you ignored it. Why?

How can any Trumpkin with a sound mind defend Trump on this issue when it is so crystal clear he absolutely said Mexico would pay for the wall and even told Hannity in an interview they could write a check?

oh wait - I think I just answered my own question.

Never mind.

Well...we already have people in this thread thinking that so the jokes on you. There are most definitely people who believed that.

lol. i love easy debates.

You love continue to embarrass yourself by thinking it meant a literal check? See post #28 as you're even mocked by anti-Trumpers as basically being "no one".

See post#13. They are already paying for it.

#13?

That was something about Ford. If Mexico is already paying for it why is Trump shutting down the government to get money to pay for it?

:inandout:

:inandout:

Right, right...and how was it related to Mexico? I want to see if you'll ignore that point a second time.

He said they could but he also said there were other ways to get the money, and it was clearly stipulated. Why are you ignoring that?

for this edition of destroying your argument, let's hear from your pal Brian Williams.

I apologize for any confusion - I did place that GWOT in quotes before its further use in my post.

Why did you snip out the part talking about tariffs? See post #13 for evidence of results.

Answer the question.

You first, I have to know the capacity of those I'm dealing with. Do you know what Mexico is? Do you need to look it up in a dictionary or encyclopedia?

How many people took that to mean that Mexico would write a literal check for the wall and not getting that through other means (e.g. trade agreements, tariffs, lower illegal immigration, stopping jobs from being outsourced to Mexico, ect)?

Given the memo Trump's team put out...

https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/Pay_for_the_Wall.pdf

On some level they seemed to think they could force Mexico to write a literal check.
