Media’s Propaganda Services for Idol Fidel Castrol Continue Five Years After His Death

Castro involved himself heavily in politics and ignore his studies, stopping taken his exams. In April of 1948 a meeting of the International Conference of American States was schedule to take place in Bogota and the Peronists wanted to make trouble for the U.S. Castro asked the Argentina ambassador in Havana for tickets for him and his friend Rafael del Pino to travel to Bogota. The ambassador agree and they arrived April 7 in Bogota, joining other Cubans students there.

Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, leader of the Liberal party, was assassinated during his presidential campaign, leading to a violent period of political unrest known as the Bogotazo. Castro and his friend join the crow and took part in an attack to a police station. The Ambassador arrange their return to Havana. Press reports in Bogota implicated both of them in the Bogotazo. Castro dismissed the charge as defamatory.
 
In October11, 1948, Fidel married Mirta Díaz Balard. She was studding philosophy at the university. She was the sister of Rafael Díaz Balard, a fellow student from Fidel. She and her family were from Banes, a town in Oriente. Fulgencio Batista, friend of Mirta father and native from Banes, gave the newlyweds a present. The newlyweds departed for their honeymoon to the US, where the stayed in New York for two month, returning to Cuba. He register at the university to finish his lawyer career. In September 1, 1949, Mirta bore a child that was christened Fidel Ángel Castro Diaz-Balar. Fidel accelerated his studies, graduating in doctor in law in July 1950.
 
Fidel opened a law office in Havana, but he has few cases. His father continued supporting him economically, since he has practically no income from the law office. He neglected his wife and child and was seldom at home. He usually owed money to the butcher and grocer and his car was repossessed. In later years he said: “I practically lived on the charity of my friends.” He has an affair with Natalia Revuelta, mother of his daughter Alina Fernandez. She does not has the Castro surname because Natalia husband gave his surname to her.
