McDonald’s Temporarily Shuts U.S. Offices as Chain Prepares for Layoff Notices

Well, that's not a good sign.

I've been through my share of "restructuring"s and when they tell everyone to stay home it's never a good sign. It usually means that they don't have the security staff to deal with that many people.

Also, McDonald's having to lay off people is bad in that McDonald's was long thought to be recession proof since their business usually increases when people have less money because their food was cheap. Inflation means that people have to limit even McDonald's.

My company just went through a "restructuring" with a large layoff, and we learned bonus are canceled for the year, but as always, happy to have a job, and being billable tends to protect you from layoffs... *fingers crossed*

Long overdue.

Interesting. Burger King just shuttered a whole bunch of locations
Have you had Burger King recently? The whole reheated patties thing makes it absolute garbage. They basically committed suicide as a company.

McD's breakfast: good

Everything else: sucks

Better service than McDonald's though. Used to get a yogurt/ice cream cone at McD's once in a long while. Won't bother anymore as most of the time they don't crank up the ice cream machine because they don't want to clean it. Of course they lie and tell you it's broken down or something.

These are McDonald's CORPORATE layoffs, the the individual franchises.... There are around 150,000 corporate employees... Franchises employ around 2 million...

I didn't say it was franchise jobs.

Who eats that crap? Burger King? McDonald's?

Why don't you try real food?

If I want a good quality burger, I go to Chick-fil-A.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it's potentially a harbinger of bad things to come for low-income jobs (especially if other fast food places are doing it too). That could contribute to rising wealth inequality and unemployment.

On the other hand, society would be a lot healthier and happier if we had fewer fast food restaurants.

Well that didn't take long. Blame Biden and the democrats for McDonald's lay offs. What next blame them for your neighbors loudness?
standard progressive radical reply when the sh*t is about to hit the fan on their watch... along the same line as the liberal media screaming "it's mostly a peaceful protest!!" over the fires of a building burning behind them...

I never met an actual burger evangelist before.

Weirdest flex I've seen this year.

Are you on their marketing team? Or do you just like their bigotry?

If you think about politics when eating a burger, you have a serious problem.

McDonald’s isn’t inexpensive any more……..
Sure it is. It does not seem like it because a Quarter Pounder meal is now about $12. Yes it is much more than 4 years ago but everything is more now than 4 years ago.

You can get an entire pizza pie at Costco for $10.
