Exactly. He avoided that question altogether. But he has not said what is on the table.

No.Really? You are saying that since the new Congress was sworn in, no GOP member has suggested cuts in S.S. and Medicare? Interesting.
Appearing on FTN, McCarthy briefly sounded like a reasonable and intelligent person, then as usual, his true self came pouring out.
In a reasonable tone:
*McCarthy said point blank that cuts to S S. and Medicare would not happen, and we would not default on our debts.
McCarthy is going to end up resigning by the end of the year. There is zero chance this coalition lasts through the first difficult vote.
You can pretty well be assured it won't be anything aimed at corporate america or the super wealthy. On Face The Nation, I was waiting for McCarthy to give at least one example of a specific program he would cut or trim. He gave none.
At this point are we supposed to believe anything that comes out of any republicans mouth? They can tell us anything, show us, govern.Appearing on FTN, McCarthy briefly sounded like a reasonable and intelligent person, then as usual, his true self came pouring out.

Reverting to typical McCarthy:
*McCarthy incorrectly stated that 4 years of Democratic spending had caused the current debt issue. The host had to tell him that two of those 4 years were under Trump.
* McCarthy said that he was "proud" to put election deniers on powerful committees. He compared his 70% of election deniers to a whopping two Democrat deniers from 2016.
*McCarthy said he only made one deal to become Speaker. That was agreeing to a one vote rule.
*When asked about Santos, McCarthy deflected to Swallwell (very low class move) then managed to "run out the clock" bantering about proxy voting.
If somehow the short segment "fake" McCarthy could ever become the "real" McCarthy, he might actually become a reasonable Republican.
Since formal negotiations have not yet started, nothing has been "on the table".No.
Its never been on the table.
From Jan 9th.No.
