Looks like the only people Spineless Kevin can stand up to are the ones he's supposed to stand up for; his own constituents.

While McCarthy has spent months building support for his rise to speaker, people back home feel that their pleas for help with water problems in the largely rural district are falling on deaf ears and they are having to appeal to some lawmakers in neighboring districts for help.

As has been previously reported, the California Republican spent months building support for his drive to become House speaker after Democrats lost control of the chamber in the midterms. That was followed by a week spent on 15 ballots before holdouts in his own party fell in line.

As CNN is reporting, back home in California, his district is suffering from a devastating shortage of water that has some folks complaining they have to use gas station bathrooms to take baths. And they are still waiting for help.

One has to wonder if those folks believe climate change is a hoax like he does.

And yet he keeps getting reelected.

Once one gets away from the coast, California is not as liberal as its reputation suggests.

Oh, it's further from the coast than you would believe...

It may be my mood, but I've been shit like that in here for ten years.

Does anyone give a shit about anything but hating the 'other' side.

Last night I came across an article with an overview of the Supreme Court. That's the most corrupt body in north America who do everything in secret.

BTW, read also that the Roe-Wade leak was deliberate and covered up by Alito. Thomas' wife Gini is an operative for MAGA.

Even the supreme court, untouchable, is corrupt as hell. Why don't they have to show their tax returns?

Without illegal farm labor, Kern County would go broke.

Fresno, Kern, Tulare. Those are the three largest agricultural counties in the nation. All adjacent to each other.

Go ahead, Kevin. Kick 'em out.

Along those lines:

Supreme Court staffers bitter over justices getting a pass during leak investigation

According to a report from the New York Times' Jodi Kantor, court employees feel they were unfairly interrogated while the nine justices sat on the sideline and faced far less scrutiny.

The justices apparently weren't even thoroughly investigated.

I said this way back when the leak first happened, and Roberts promised an investigation. Always believed that if they couldn't find the leaker, that it was a conservative who did the leaking. This investigation was over before it ever started. No different than the FBI investigation into Bret. The one that never really happened. It's all a conservative coverup. It's disgusting at minimum.

I did as well.

With numbers increasing, the report adds, "Multiple people CNN spoke to for this story said McCarthy and his office don’t often engage on this issue in the district, especially compared with neighboring members of Congress. And they wish he would do more with his power in Washington – especially now that he holds the speaker’s gavel."

Bogus republicans are fiscally irresponsible maniacs = always vote Progressive Democrats of America ..........

Kind of in the same vein of the thread that I posted about the water crisis in Arizona, the people in the valley are probably ****ed and it may be permanent. Living in the West is increasingly going to mean having water shipped in and paying Beirut or Amman prices for it. At first, it'll be the people living there. Then the agriculture dries up, and when that happens, Trader Joe's ain't gonna be so cheap anymore. I give it 5 years max.

And no, mandating that everyone buy a Tesla and building a new wind farm isn't going to do shit.

What's scary?

Is where that water you have to import came from. If it's artesian you're starting a new desert, if it's ground water it's suspect, and if it's river water you're depleting one resource in one area to have it 'disappear' in another.

That's how we got into this mess. It was fine back in the 20's & 30's of the last century to build power plants by diverting water. Now you have a choice, power at an ever-increasing cost of water or water to drink and ride a bike or walk.

That's the future. Electric cars are not a solution to anything but a lack of wealth for those who can afford to invest. It is a technology that is developing, but at what cost to the environment. We still have to make steel for cars and rubber for tires, tar for more roads, less greenery as roads replace forest.

And demand will rise exponentially as green houses will be needed to preserve and recycle water and they will need to be heated over winter.

Years ago a famous Canadian scientist was asked how we escape the effects of global warming. "Stop living." He replied.

That's true. It's like we have red states in our inland areas. We are the #1 agricultural state. We've also had a history of more Republican power. But we've improved to have a 2-1 Democratic margin.

People in California may need to sacrifice residential landscapes in order for the food farms to survive......... stop watering, stop fertiizing and mow less. While I am not in
California we let our residential landscape take some serious hits in order to slow the increase of our property value in order to slow the increase of property taxes.

McCarthy supported increases to the debt 3 times while he was kissing the Trump butt.
