If McCarthy was so interested in getting something done about the border, he would have taken a bi-partisan group of reps with him. All he cares about is revenge politics. Republicans don't want to solve the border issues because they would lose that as a divisive talking point. The GOP has been playing this game for 25 years.I agree completely. His incompetence and refusal to enforce federal law is documented.

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday called for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to resign over his handling of the migrant crisis at the southern border – or potentially face an impeachment inquiry when Republicans take control of the House next year.
"His actions have produced the great wave of illegal immigration in recorded history," McCarthy said at a press conference in El Paso, Texas, during a tour of the southern border. "This is why today I am calling on the secretary to resign."
"He cannot and must not remain in that position," he said. "If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure to determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry."

Imagine a future election where the GOP has no border crisis to rail against democrats about. They're already losing elections. They need this grievance.
All his trip was designed to do is rile up his base in favor of an impeachment which as we all know will go nowhere in the senate. In other words, republicans doing what they do best. Gaslighting.
