Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Sunday said House Speaker Mike Johnson “betrayed” Republican voters after the House approved new aid to Ukraine, threatening to call a vote for his ouster if he doesn’t resign.

“Mike Johnson’s speakership is over. He needs to do the right thing to resign and allow us to move forward in a controlled process. If he doesn’t do so, he will be vacated,” Greene said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

After months of resisting putting a foreign aid bill on the House floor, Johnson joined with Democrats on Saturday to advance a $95 billion foreign aid package, which contains $61 billion for Ukraine and regional partners. The legislation – which passed with the support of 210 Democrats and 101 Republicans – now heads to the Senate, which is expected to give final approval this week.

Under the new rules, a single member of the House can force a floor vote on a motion to vacate. Or did they put in an exception so MTG is unable to?

Question: Did Johnson keep all of the rules, or were some changed? I can almost see the Republicans trying to do damage control and like specifically putting her in a corner. "No, MTG, you cannot hold the party hostage. Everyone else, feel free to." :P

I have a feeling we haven't heard the last of this. Someone just might do what you suggest. What really needs to happen is let her file the motion to vacate and get rejected by a majority of republicans. I think as much as I don't like Johnson for his election denying and coup plotting, he probably just earned the last 7.5 months of his speakership.

You are a fool and tool of an enemy of America. You are not in Washington to do the serious work of being a legislator. You have no heart, will or capability to make America a better place; you are just there to draw attention to you. We just aren't that into you, Marjorie as you are an idiot. You are disgrace to all of your peers with IQ's of less of 100 (you know, the people you represent).
