Yes...bitter attitude. Get over it. Watch a movie. 'Nam is over. If you need to compare something to it look towards Afghanistan.
And since this "censorship" has been going on since 2004, what exactly does President Obama have to do with it? I guess it was about our troops safety and INFOSEC when it came to President Bush, huh? Now I see the partisan.
And watching you "Censor" what I say tells me a lot about you Sarge.
Bitter Attitude...? Watching the samething happen to our Military, that happened during Nam don't come close to what I feel. Remember to read anyone that's tries to kill you, or your Men,,,their Miranda Rights.
Ain't B.O. Great?
That's Tacky Sarge. And shows your true Leadership skills.
Do you even know what censorship is? What you wrote is clearly written in your post (#24 in fact), which means that you weren't censored. What I responded to was what I wanted to respond to. I have no want to pat you on the back for your feelings in regards to the rest.
Maybe your idea of what censorship means is the whole problem here.
Tacky Sarge. And the response I'd expect from you. You'll notice I've NEVER omitted a single line, or word from YOU.[/COLOR]
Yet,,, you 'feel" justified" in deleting my responses. Clearly, you're a Sarge who stays hidden in the Rear, with the Gear".
Maybe you should so that I know exactly to what you are replying to. This is how it works.
And now you are just being adolescent. I don't see where I have written anything that would "clearly" tell you anything of my combat experiences from Somalia to Haiti to Iraq.
Notice I also cut out your use of smilies? I find them childish and unecessary as well.
They give "Security Reasons"...But I think they're also trying to control what the Troops have access to. I'll bet B.O. has a hand in this.
Marines Ban Twitter, MySpace, Facebook | Danger Room | Wired.com
Why do people post articles w/o reading them?
Dude, read your own article!!
Banning those sites is totally reasonable and makes perfect sense. Loose lips sink ships.
They should have banned the carrying of digital cameras and cell phone cameras in detainment centers a long time ago.
As technology and the internet changes (especially with Twitter and Facebook) you can't take any chances and risk the security of a mission.
And your comment about the President is either hyper-partisan lameness or a total lack of understanding of how the military works.
Yeah,,,I was a kid during Nam. True...We ran across NonComs like you, and we let them "Lead". They came from a Supply Depot, or Typing Pool. We'd let them tell us where the Latrine was, or Chow Hall. That was about it.
I read that the Marines have "controlled" what the Troops can see, and hear. You've decided that's perfectly "OK" with you. Then,,,you procede to state that even MORE Censorship is needed.
Please...
“These internet sites in general are a proven haven for malicious actors and content and are particularly high risk due to information exposure, user generated content and targeting by adversaries,” reads a Marine Corps order, issued Monday. “The very nature of SNS [social network sites] creates a larger attack and exploitation window, exposes unnecessary information to adversaries and provides an easy conduit for information leakage that puts OPSEC [operational security], COMSEC [communications security], [and] personnel… at an elevated risk of compromise.”
The Marines’ ban will last a year. It was drawn up in response to a late July warning from U.S. Strategic Command, which told the rest of the military it was considering a Defense Department-wide ban on the Web 2.0 sites, due to network security concerns. Scams, worms, and Trojans often spread unchecked throughout social media sites, passed along from one online friend to the next. “The mechanisms for social networking were never designed for security and filtering. They make it way too easy for people with bad intentions to push malicious code to unsuspecting users,” a Stratcom source told Danger Room.
Cut it for who? You? Free speech is a civilian's luxury. Not a military's. And when it comes to the military and the Internet, information kills. They can write letters, talk on the phone, read and receive e-mails, watch the news, and read newspapers. They cannot eat up bandwidth on blog sites, talk about mission sensitive information, or connect to sites known for intriducing viruses into networks.
What is it exactly that you are bitching about in regards to "free speech" or censorship?
Oh, jeez....in WWII troops had their letters out censored, the news being broadcast and printed was censored.
They give "Security Reasons"...But I think they're also trying to control what the Troops have access to. I'll bet B.O. has a hand in this.
This ain't World War II. You may as well tell me that troops during the Civil War didn't have GPS.
NonComs like me? Once again....you don't even know me or my experiences. Aren't you the one overreacting to "censorship" and now diving into a personal battle with a 17 year Marine who has spent all combat tours across the world in Infantry Battalions and Regiments? Frankly, you don't rate to know of my experiences because of your immature behavior.
But it is funny that you needed someone to tell you where a toilet was in Vietnam. Today's Grunt is a bit smarter I guess. Or were you the exception back then and needed personal guidance to such things?
You got "Personal" a long time ago. Starting with your Censorship of my Lines.
They give "Security Reasons"...But I think they're also trying to control what the Troops have access to. I'll bet B.O. has a hand in this.

It's their network, they can do what they want with it.
Still confused about what censorship is I see. Noticed how I left the rest of your childish garbage where it belongs? - In your post. Know what that means? It's not censored. Just too petty and insignificant to reply to.
And by the way...since your posts are not censored....the record is clearly written and shows you on the petty attack. Start with Post #14. Of course, you got personal with others before this, didn't you? Perhaps you should be looking for your own posts to be censored if only to protct you from yourself. Just a thought.
When I become brain-dead enough to rely on you to "protect me" Sarge,,, I'll have become as useless as you.:roll Nothing worth looking forward to,,,is it?
Who is 'They' when it comes to our "American Network"?
Who is 'They' when it comes to our "American Network"? That justifies Censorship according to B.O.? Or the a**hole that follow his rules?
Not me.
"They" are the military and it's a military network, not a public network.
