What does Manchin want, to pass this bill?
2 Dem Senators control Bidens plans

Sen. Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.) on Sunday said that he could not support Democrats’ roughly $2 trillion bill to overhaul the country’s health care, education, climate, immigration and tax laws, dealing a potentially fatal blow to the final piece of President Biden’s economic agenda.

Remove the spending gimmicks that we're used to get the bill to look like it will not cost more than 2 trillion. Everyone knows this bill is likely to cost about 1 trillion or more every year for at least the next 10 years.

I thought we were promised this would be passed back in September?
Must have been filed right next to Trump's healthcare plan.

Oddly enough the same amount we will spend on our military and I don't see manchin or the rest of his republican buddies complaining.

When I was fifteen or so I received some words of wisdom which I'll share...in most cases, can't really means won't.

Manchin is my fav Dem. The guy is awesome.
Manchin is a dem just like I am a republican.

He is a centrist and true to his centrist views. We don't need too much liberalism, we need zero trumpism.

Actually nobody knows that - and certainly not you - because it's not true.

First off, the total cost of BBB depends on whether certain programs will be extended after their sunset provisions. Extensions completely change the calculus.

Without extensions, the full bill is expected to cost $2.4 trillion against $2.2 trillion in offsets for a net debt accumulation of $200 billion, OVER TEN YEARS.

Agreed. I would like the problems to get worse and more expensive to deal with before we reconsider. That usually works great.

Personally, I can't buy whatever I want whenever I want.
I respect that you think bankruptcy is a good idea.

Very trumpian of you.

If you ask me if we over spend on our military or on social programs; my answer is both.

What is stunning is how you and the other so called progressives have told us how great the Biden economy is, great job creation, great GDP growth but now want to spend trillions for exactly what purpose? If the economy and jobs are doing so great why more gov't spending?

Manchin is a ****ing Dino traitor from a failing, drug-infested backwards state, who gets lobbyist coal money shovelled up his ass.
ROFLMAO, anyone that doesn't walk in lockstep with the march to socialism is now called a traitor? Anyone who doesn't adhere to the Constitution, Biden and supporters are the real traitors. We are doing so great according to the left now that Trump is out of office so why the needed taxpayer spending?

It is good news for both Canadian and American workers and consumers. The automotive subsidy provisions in BBB are illegal violations of the recently renewed NAFTA agreement. The bill, if passed, would force Canada to retaliate, throwing tens of thousands of Americans out of work, drive up prices for consumers and devastating the integrated North American economy. It is a stab in the back of America's largest trading partner and closest ally.

A) he is a traitor for not passing much-needed progressive and green policies

B) more spending is needed to combat climate change, create green jobs, paid parental leave (all areas in which the US lags behind other western countries)

Of course Manchin can't support this bill. He'd have to be a Democrat to do that.
Sounds very Bidenistic.

"You've got more questions?" Biden replied. "Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."
