Mamdani ahead of Cuomo and others by about 20 points in new Siena College poll.

Fascinating how you’ve devolved into open, full on McCarthyism in the space of, like, three pages.
Ah, there's the pivot and gaslight.

"Communism is awesome" to "Anyone who calls me a communist is a McCarthyist (i.e. the communist label is false)". All in the span of two posts. Do better next time. I have faith that you can condense the pivot-and-gaslight into a single post if you try hard enough. Maybe even a single sentence. Start off by explaining how awesome communism is, and then pivot into acting indignant that anyone would think you're a communist. Bonus points if you can then end the sentence back where you started, with communism being awesome. No help from ChatGPT though, this is your chance to express your creativity. (y)

Both Communism and Nazism are murderous Totalitarian ideologies that killed and enslaved millions. One crucial difference is that Nazism targets certain groups of people for death or enslavement while Communism targets everybody.
ANYONE who supports or defends EITHER ideology is a Totalitarian or a complete idiot.

Mark
The mere fact East Germany was allowed to exist as an independent state is more than enough evidence communism wasn’t as bad as Nazism.

Gee dude, I’ve provided extensive evidence providing the folks in Kerala are A) more dedicated to democratic norms than the U.S. is and B) have drastically improved the lives of the people in their state by, like, a half a dozen different metrics.

You apparently thinking acknowledging reality makes one a “communist” speaks volumes to the lack of validity in your arguments.

But hey! Folks like you called MLK Jr a communist, especially when he started speaking out against Vietnam and tried promoting actions against poverty, so it’s hardly a shock.

So are you a communist? Yes or no? Because you sure do spend a lot of time defending it. Not just in this thread, not just in Kerala, but worldwide and in general.

It sure is a wild coincidence that this non-communist candidate for Mayor of NYC said that he wants a communist Mayor of NYC, and now everyone on this forum who thinks communism is amazing is a huge fan of his. What bad luck. It's like the universe is conspiring to falsely label Zohran Mamdani a communist. 🤡
As already pointed out to you, you don’t have be an adherent of a political ideology to point out a region whose political leaders are objectively doing a good job.

I’m still waiting on your evidence that anything like this hypothetical supposed fascist party that behaves anything like Kerala does is around, btw.

So are you a communist? Yes or no? Because you sure do spend a lot of time defending it. Not just in this thread, not just in Kerala, but worldwide and in general.
“Worldwide”? There’s, like, four actual communist countries left in the world, with Cuba probably being the most notable. Let’s see some evidence of my “worldwide communist support” first.

As already mentioned, Kerala is more democratic than the U.S. is at this rate.

You just positively cited East Germany. Literally just now.
What, exactly, do you fantasize the odds of the Nazis allowing any of their RKs or other puppet states the level of autonomy East Germany received are?

Given the fact the Nazi plans for the Soviet lands were literal slavery at best, and total annihilation being the default, once again, the fact that the Soviets allowed the establishment of an independent German state and allied with it demonstrates the difference quite clearly.

Thanks for failing to support your argument. Try again?

You're right. East Germany was a wonderful worker's paradise full of rainbows and fluffy bunnies. It was such a paradise that they had to build a wall and shoot anyone who tried to leave.

It's hard to imagine how anyone might conclude that you are a communist...must just be totally unfounded McCarthyism. I can't imagine how else anyone might reach that conclusion.

East Germany was a dictatorship, but life there was so exponentially better for the people there than it was for the average citizen under Nazi occupation in the East that the two aren’t even remotely comparable

….. you are aware there was tourism in the Eastern Bloc, right? People weren’t just locked into one country forever. They shot at defectors, yeah, but that’s an entirely different thing than you claim that they just “shot people trying to leave”.

Maybe if you knew actual history, instead of the PragerU level propaganda a lot of Americans seem programmed with, you would be able to comprehend that.

East Germany was NOT an independent state. It was a Soviet satellite.
Or, to put it another way, it was as "independent" as all the other East Bloc countries, i.e. Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, etc.

^ Average Mamdani enjoyer.

East Germany was absolutely an independent state. In case you hadn’t noticed, the East Bloc nations were able to exercise a fairly high degree of autonomy as long as they weren’t either dumb enough to try and outright break away(Hungary) or unlucky enough to fall out on the outside of shifting power in the USSR itself(Czechoslovakia).

Romania under Ceaucescu, for example, was highly praised by the West for defying the Soviets for years(the West happily ignored the fact he saw the Kim family in North Korea and Enver Hoxha as role models to emulate).

East German border guards shot and killed teenagers who were trying to flee over the Wall to West Berlin and freedom.
Those darn "defectors"!

Yeah, I can think of at least a half a dozen different places where western backed regimes gunned down—or kidnapped, tortured, and then murdered— college students and called them “communists” after the fact to “justify” the killings.

What’s your point?

The U.S. sponsored multiple coups to crush democracies and install brutal dictators on the mere thought that countries might break away from Western domination— as in Guatemala— so spare me the posturing

You claimed East Germans were shot if they left the country, something that’s clearly not true.

Zohran Mamdani sure does seem to attract a lot of this type of person to his side, as this thread demonstrates. Curious.

Who said anything about them being “justified”? I pointed out your claim about East Germans “not being able to leave the country” was blatantly false.

Funny how you still haven’t managed to present any evidence that Mamdani is a “communist” other than “he praised an objectively well run and democratic government!”
