It is kinda hard to even make any realistic claim if one does not understand the terminology.

But I can think of two other punitive actions since then that most should be aware of. First is Operation El Dorado Canyon against Libya in 1986 after they conducted a bombing in West Berlin that killed two US servicemen. That resulted in a punitive raid by the US Air Force and Navy that destroyed multiple Libyan military facilities.

Then you have Operation Praying Mantis in 1988. After several ships were damaged or sunk by Iranian mines (including the USS Samuel B. Roberts FFG-58), the US conducted a series of punitive attacks on Iranian targets. And in the end destroying a significant part of the Iranian Navy with almost no losses.



I guess some simply can not comprehend why a nation would "spank" another, and not try to take over their territory or topple their government.

Are you trying to claim that the Khmer Rouge and Democratic Kampuchea did not fall in January of 1979? Or are you trying to say that the People's Republic of China did not invade Vietnam in February of 1979?

Come on now, if you are trying to claim that I am wrong, than either one or the other of those dates (or both) has to be wrong. So come on now, tell us which of the dates is wrong and give us a reference to validate that claim.

Otherwise, go away. The adults are trying to talk here.

That is what you claim caused the war, and said it was bullshit when I said that was wrong. I even proved it was wrong simply by the timeline, it is absolutely impossible for that to have "prevented the overthrow" of a government that had already been overthrown.

You really do not know what you are talking about, and simply scream at others to hear yourself scream. Now pay attention, explain how what you said was even remotely possible.
