I grew up in Southern Louisiana, and my mother would make lost bread for us for breakfast.
I later found out people called this French Toast, I thought it odd at the time since toast is something else.
Anyway my Mothers Recipe was very simple.
In a pie plate crack one egg, and beat with a fork, add 1/2 C milk, 1/4 C sugar, and some vanilla extract.
mix together with the fork.
Dip bread slices in on both sides and cook on the skillet.
Serve with granulated sugar sprinkled over the top.

If you let the bread soak too long, it comes out like bread pudding for breakfast!

Now I'm hungry . I love French toast and have sometimes added rum in place of the vanilla - and we sprinkle with powder sugar.

Just saw something I'd never heard of yesterday called scotch eggs. They looked yummy. Anyone every made these before or had them?

I had to look up what a Dutch Baby was, it sounds good.

It's actually really tasty, and it's a good duality. There's the crispy outside and the almost custard like inside. Some lemon, butter, and powdered sugar...so good. This is the recipe I use:

It says 20-25 minutes, I have found that the 20 minutes or even a little less is more appropriate.

Instead of milk and vanilla extract you should try flavored coffee creamer.

Sometimes I also make french toast with banana nut bread.

I like French toast, but My Wife's banana nut bread, is too good to serve a lessor purpose.
