'Tis the season for retrospectives and predictions. I'll start with a list of questions that CNN thinks are key.

1. Will Biden run in 2024?
2. Will any Democrats challenge a reelection bid by Biden?
3. How much will inflation concerns continue?
4. How successful will Biden’s policies be?
5. What will a House GOP majority mean?
6. How will Trump handle his reelection campaign?
7. What is coming from the Supreme Court?
8. How will conflicts overseas affect us?
9. Will public health be a major concern?
10. Will our democracy enjoy stability?

1. No
2. Yes
3. A while but will abate later in the year
4. 2021 was very bad, 2022 was somewhat better. 2023 ought to be between
5. Very little. Mostly talk but it's Washington so what else would you expect?
6. He'll pass
7. I would like to know myself
8. Quite a bit. The Biden administration's foreign policy team is inept
9. Define major
10. Sure. It's not in trouble popular rhetoric not-with-standing.

1. Will Biden run in 2024? Trump and Biden part 2, will make for great entertainment ;)
2. Will any Democrats challenge a reelection bid by Biden? Hopefully, preferably with lots of candidates of color to give Fox something to wring their hands over ;)
3. How much will inflation concerns continue? A LOT, people still want their steaks and won't abide anything less.
4. How successful will Biden’s policies be? This deserves a whole thread on it's own, the list of his accomplishments are lengthy but seldom noticed by one side of the aisle, however moving forward he will be stuck with a R House, so little will get done next two years.
5. What will a House GOP majority mean? Investigations and Impeachment attempts.
6. How will Trump handle his reelection campaign? Like Trump always does, by humiliating his opponents and sucking in massive donations.
7. What is coming from the Supreme Court? In this one area I suspect more balance than the Lefties believe and that Righties might not be happy with.
8. How will conflicts overseas affect us? Same ole same ole. More money for Ukraine, more hand wringing over China, more worries about Iran. But little done in a concrete way to change anything.
9. Will public health be a major concern? Ummmmmm, dare I say it? Mental health will decline.
10. Will our democracy enjoy stability? Ummmmmmm, not to be flippant, BUT........... was it EVER stable?

Yay, let's all play the victim game.

It baffles me how anyone who gushes about the Trump presidency can claim the Biden administration's foreign policy team is inept.

As for #10, I'll agree our democracy is not in jeopardy of collapsing but having 10's of millions of American believe our elections are rigged based upon the bizarre lies of an unhinged narcissist is a major concern. How many truly believe Trump should have somehow, someway been reinstated as president?

1. Will Biden run in 2024? no

2. Will any Democrats challenge a reelection bid by Biden? absolutely

3. How much will inflation concerns continue? slow down in 2023 but we wont see 3% again for a couple of years

4. How successful will Biden’s policies be? what policies? havent really seen much, have you?

5. What will a House GOP majority mean? more of the same....if the democrats want it, the R's stop it....if the R's want it, the D's stop it.....complete standstill in DC

6. How will Trump handle his reelection campaign? he wont....he will NOT be the 2024 GOP candidate.....he will beg out by end of 2023

7. What is coming from the Supreme Court? more good decisions

8. How will conflicts overseas affect us? hoping not at all....but if China/Russia get together could be a really bad scene and Taiwan could be explosive

9. Will public health be a major concern? no.....a new combo flu shot will be coming out in next few months which will help against regular flu and Covid

10. Will our democracy enjoy stability? wow....the way the two ends of the spectrum are now, i dunno.....we have to reign in both sides....we need more common sense from both parties and that is only going to come from the moderates in the middle

OK, fine. Biden's foreign policy team is several steps down from the level Trump's team attained. Is that better?

For example, the Biden administration killed the XL pipeline and rescinded the stay-in-Mexico policies during their first week in office. In spite of knowing this was intended, they never informed Canada or Mexico. That sort of stumbling has never let up, eg the embarrassment over Brittany Griner. in other areas we have the fiasco in Afghanistan, the fumbling concerning Iran's nuclear program, and hand-wringing about China's aggression with Taiwan but not acting. This exceeds the level of incompetence that the hapless Obama team managed.

In comparison, the Trump administration managed to improve relations with both KSA and Israel at the same time, defeated ISIS, thwarted Putin, isolated China, and produced the Abraham Accords. It's night vs day. Trump's team was good and Biden's isn't.

I am not one of them.

That said, it is reasonable to raise issues with the way the election was conducted. Claiming that there was zero evidence was never true.

1. Will Biden run in 2024?

Probably.

2. Will any Democrats challenge a reelection bid by Biden?

Going by today's temperature? No.

3. How much will inflation concerns continue?

It'll be less.

4. How successful will Biden’s policies be?

As good as can be expected, given that he won't have legislative successes. On the domestic front, the best you can expect from a Biden White House with a hostile SCOTUS and only one chamber of Congress is that he continues to appoint lifetime judges at a breakneck pace.

5. What will a House GOP majority mean?

Lots of incoherent screaming, conspiracy theories, culture war, and investigations that go nowhere.

6. How will Trump handle his reelection campaign?

Poorly. Partly because his heart obviously isn't in it, and partly because continuing investigations and indictment(s) will be enormous distractions.

7. What is coming from the Supreme Court?

Regular ongoing efforts to put a hold on left wing policies by bringing cases in front of Trump-appointed judges, followed by the case leapfrogging past all the appeals courts and directly into the SC, where they'll most likely uphold the stay.

8. How will conflicts overseas affect us?

The war will trudge on in Ukraine, probably ending by the end of summer. The end result is that we'll have effectively decimated the Russian military without losing a single American life.

The joker card is, as always, what China does with concern to Taiwan.

9. Will public health be a major concern?

When is it not?

10. Will our democracy enjoy stability?

Doubtful.

Here are a couple of articles on 2022 covering both ends of the media spectrum. Let's just say mixed reviews at best.
