London murder rate is HIGHER than New York's for the first time ever: Stabbings surge[W:579]

God I hope so. Canada, Norway, Finland, Holland, Sweden, Australia, japan

Canada is not socialist. Canada has a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy government.

And on a side note Canada is quite lax on gun laws compared to countries in Europe, they are even more lax than certain states in the USA.

Oh good. You support Canadian gun laws here. Welcome aboard

Well I would certainly choose Canadian gun laws over the gun laws in some of the states in the USA but the gun laws I support the most would be those of states such as Vermont or New Hampshire or Montana or Wyoming.

Great national registration of all handguns. I agree

NYC gun laws are good enough for ten million

PA gun laws are good for over 12 million and while VT and NH have better gun laws than PA, the PA gun laws are much better than the NYC gun laws.

Gun laws or restrictions are only as good as the society that has put them in place. If said society is a violent society then gun laws/restrictions wont matter much.

London's problem is that there are fewer cops. Since the current government has taken power, cop numbers has fallen 10%, where as in New York, they have gone up 15%. Add to that, the general degeneration of British society due to economic inequality and you see a spike in crime levels... but remember, what is a crime in the UK, might not be in the US.. or seen as a lesser crime.

Example.. if I push a person in the UK, that is seen as a violent crime.. it aint in the US. So there is a discrepancy there.

But yes there has been a spike in murders in London the last few years and that has to do with social and economic problems in the UK in general.. and no not immigration or Muslims or green men from Venus. Society has changed pure and simple and that happens everywhere and happens every 20 or so years... basically every generation. With it comes new norms and yes in some cases more violence. There is not much you can do about it, unless you enforce a brutal religious dictatorship and ban all forms of learning other than the set rules.. and even then there will be rebels.

What London needs, is more money for the cops and more outreach to vulnerable young people. That wont happen under the current government since it aint their "voting areas" that are most effected.

Pushing somebody can be seen as simple assault in the USA.

Or it could be gun control

Nope.. because as debatechallenge and others have pointed out.. There are states and countries with lax gun laws.. and low suicide rates.. and states and countries with stringent gun control who have high suicide rates.

That pretty much proves that there is not much correlation,, much less causation with lax gun control and suicides. That evidence is clear.. and has been provided to you. You simply choose to ignore it.

States with lax gun laws have the most suicides

States with lax gun laws have the most suicides

that's been proven wrong already by multiple posters.

SOME states with lax gun laws have more suicide.. some states with lax gun laws have lower rates than those with stringent gun control... the same with countries.

the evidence is clear.. that its not gun control.. but other things.. most likely safety nets, cultures, economies etc.. that actually account for suicide rates.

Focusing on firearms.. which is already proven to not be a causational factor.. not only is a expensive diversion.. it actually makes preventing suicide more difficult.

It’s just a giant coincidence. Lol

Oh god. How much proof do you need?

The amount that supports your claim. Apparently, you have none.

For example, what are some other factors that might be linked to increased suicide rates? You know, critical thinking stuff and all that.
