He isn't the first person to want to live in the equivalent of a human doghouse. There was a thread a couple months ago on a similar subject.

Yes I did read the story. He is doing it for enviro-wacko reasons and to prove that that you do not need a actual house.Its practically the same reason people do those other micro-homes.

PLus he is not the first to come up with the idea of living in a dumpster.It was kind of a sub-plot of a episode on a CBS show.

Ya, but those enviro whack jobs are not happy just showing how they can do more with less... They will push to have property taxes and the like jacked up to the point where that kind of micro house is the most that anyone can afford.

I think he would have been wise to start with an 8' X 20' shipping container...which are extremely sturdy and relatively cheap.

Since he seems to be talking about expanding his dumpster, he could have had the extra space already with the container.

Plus, he could, if he wanted to, start a small community by stacking them on top of each other - put the toilet/kitchen water facilities at the back and have a common drain/water supply for the group.
