I absolutely love debates, and interviews & talk shows too. I'm enamored with verbal linguistics, sparring, and acrobatics.

By fortunate good luck (well, great sacrificing parents actually), I ended-up in a pretty good Catholic Prep High School during a time when Debate was the Catholic Preps' absolutely highest esteemed extra-curricular activity.

I placed into the Honors curriculum, but didn't get on the very competitive football team, so I did track, cross-country, and wrestling. With those sports and the extra demands of Honors classes, I had no time for any other activities, even though I always had my eye on debate.

Unfortunately Debate was a serious deal, requiring big-time commitment. It was the school's flagship activity (despite their having a concurrent State Championship football team and several runner-ups).

Until today, I regret not having tried to place into that Debate Team. What a missed opportunity! I did get to live vicariously through my son though, who did get on his school's Debate Team. At his first debate, I was both proud & envious of him at the same time!

Same, he was my first pick for VP.
 
I might see bits of it tomorrow. I'll at least read news reports about it and comments about it here.

I do now. Someone just PMed me and after a little investigation I found out that indeed it's parody.

It's fooling a lot of people on Twitter.

I've read that vance is nimble at extricating himself from sticky situations. Moreover, I doubt he can be so easily baited (as trump).

I do hope Walz is capable of interrupting vance (if vance does it to him) and returning the conversation to what Walz wants to talk about.

I also hope Walz is capable of jabbing and insulting vance, should that be necessary.

Harris and Walz seem to be avoiding insults, focusing instead on attacking Trump's policies (that are certainly open to mocking).

That's what I expect to see.

I like it but there are at least six shots there and I won't be able to mark my card or finish the debate. But I am printing it out anyway.
 
Foregoing the VP shitshow in favor of something more highbrow - a vulgar puppet show. Will catch highlights later.
