Democracy 2025. Let's go

Litigation Coalition Forming to Confront Trump Administration Policies

A coalition of over 280 organizations has announced what it says is a multimillion-dollar legal initiative to challenge policies from the incoming Trump administration. The coalition, "Democracy 2025,” includes legal, advocacy, and policy groups to "disrupt far-right attacks on the American people," according to its website.

According to a press release by the coalition, Democracy 2025 is spearheaded by Democracy Forward, a legal advocacy organization to promote "transparent and accountable governance.” The coalition says more than 800 individuals are involved, including "litigators, strategists, advocates, academics, policy experts, and faith leaders."

The coalition said it will use its litigation fund to "ensure swift and effective responses to any executive actions deemed harmful or unlawful."

"We are the resistence!" is so 2016.

How dispairing it must be knowing that even if liberals manage to successfully challenge a Trump administraion policy before their beloved 9th circuit court that it has no chance of being upheld by the conservative supreme court. Just has to suck all the wind out of you.

*sigh*

Our poor idiot liberal friends have nothing to look forward to except one crushing defeat after another. You sort of have to feel sorry for them. Of course after a good amount of side slapping laughter.

They don't even try to hide lawfare anymore. Now they put it on a pedestal and proudly show it off.
Citizens challenging their government in court is lawfare? Citizens have every right under the Constitution to challenge the legality of government actions.

You mean what they did to Trump?! If it's happening to you I bet you would change your tune.

Is it now the rights position that a government should not be challenge? Really?

Pick the one word that doesn't describe Democrat's current emotional state.

1.) Despondent
2.) Clock tower unhinged
3.) HAPPY!!!
4.) Clinically depressed
5.) Clinically insane

I'm not going to relitigate all that but legally challenging the ACTIONS of a government is much different than prosecuting an individual for alleged criminal acts.

Do you really want a government to go unchecked when they ignore the Constitution? Did you feel that way when RW groups went after student loan forgiveness or the other 70 some suits against Biden. What about the over 30 times the Obama Administration was sued for their policies or actions?

My life is too short to be talking to someone who just woke up from a four year nap.

:ROFLMAO: Typical response when one does not or cannot explain their position.

Trump was charged in some cases based on Grand Jury recommendations.
Trump lost a civil trail
Trump had the document case thrown out not because of the evidence but because the Judge Cannon ruled the Special Council was not hired properly.
etc.

We have complete control of government and the Supreme Court and all of a sudden the Left wants us to play nice after 8 years of hoaxes, impeachments, ridiculous criminal prosecutions of their political opponents and slanderous comparisons to Hitler, fascists and whatever else those nickel heads could come up with.

We say,...Nah.

Have a nice day now!

Not at all they should continue to ignore the will of the people and fight for the policies that cost them the election. Right on Callen!

Litigation

All the litigation in the world did not save democracy, it is time to go to war.
They've been thirsting for it for a decade anyway.

Less to do with the recent election and everything to do with the nonstop litany of threats and the agenda being formed to deliver on those threats.
A political party (Republicans) decided a long time ago that no opposition should be tolerated, and they are now openly attacking the constitutional provisions for the republic that make up our republican system of governance.

Such nonsense. Yes Trump won but that does not mean Trump has carte blanche to defy the Constitution nor does it mean everyone who voted for him loves every thing he does. My bet is a huge number of people who voted for him are aghast at his choice for AG and Secretary of Defense. I also would bet a large number would oppose the use to the military to round up migrants.

Trump didn't win because voter's thought people were mean to him. He won because they were frustrated with inflation and fed up with the Biden Administration.

We would not have to use the military if the sanctuary cities followed the law. Law Enforcment would be used to help border patrol round up those here with no documentation. If it were up to me and the law changed, any mayor or governor would be arrested and prosecuted for aiding and abetting known criminals. Trump also won the election because of the problem of illegal immigration.
Trump is at least getting his programs signed into law. The liberal cities just decided to defy the law all on their own. The Obama admin should have put a stop to it in the beginning, but all he did was speak out against it to get praise from Republicans.
How is Trump defying the Constitution? He is allowed to pick anyone he wants for his cabinet. I think the AG might be shot down. He will pick another.

Local law enforcement is paid by local taxpayer to enforce the laws of their communities, not federal law. If the Feds want them to enforce federal law the need to fund them to do that

Trump is at least getting his programs signed into law.
He is ? I think you're way ahead of yourself on that !

Not yet, but he has signaled he wants to bypass Constitutional "advise and consent" and official security checks. Then there is the notion of deploying the military against civilians. The power the right is willing to cede to the government is shocking and totally contrary to conservative principles.

I agree, Trump won the I despise Trump on a personal level but will hold my nose and vote for him anyway voters. A large number would support it also.

And because many on the left were fed up with Biden's border policies. This despite Trump winning in 2016 on that very issue...listen to these folks who were left leaning.

They don't like Trump but they know he'll change course on immigration policy.

To bad we need to defend our democracy from dictatorship.

Still going with that line...I guess its all you have left.
