Im sorry but didn't he run on this? That he would surround himself w/ dissenters Lincoln style?

Anyone who expected an all left, all liberal, all democrat administration simply did NOT know the platform of the person they were voting for.

Pfft - no he did not - he RAN ON repealing the tax cuts for wealthy, now he will let them expire, he ran on getting out of Iraq, now he will just scale down, he ran on taxing windfall profits for oil industry, now there will be no such tax.

You should be sorry - ain't that koolaid getting stale yet?

Apparently Obama is just like any other poitician. He said what ever it took to get elected. Well he lied and the loony left is pissed. He is surronding himself with a center/right cabinet. Will the anointed one throw the libs a bone and appoint at least one wacko progressive to his cabinet? We will see.

So much for this alleged leftist socialist we voted into power.

lol.

harper's leaked memo was proof that Obama was saying all kinds of crazy leftist crap to get votes and he had no intention of doing what he said. But that's what all politicians do during an election.

I ended up supporting Obama based on what I perceived to be a center-left, temperate position. Many chided me for seeing a moderate approach in what was obviously an extreme, radical leftist. Now, he is acting on what was apparent, at least to me, that he was selling, and everyone one is telling me I should be embarrased because he's not displaying a fervor for the communist policies I supposedly voted him in on. Pretty clever trick, guys.

Anyone who follows politics knows that Obama is much more center than most liberals/leftists prefer. Those who disagree simply bought into the extreme right-wings attempts to paint him as a far left liberal. If you look at his voting record, Obama is pretty center, with a left lean.

Personally, Obama is way more middle of the road than I would prefer, but I am a realist as well. I know that it is highly unlikely someone who is as far left as I am would ever be elected President. There are many things that I disagree with Obama on, however I supported him because I believe that he is probably one of the few people who might be able to repair the damage that GWB did to this country.

He ran on alot of things.

Koolaid? Are you under the foolish assumption that I'm an Obama supporter?

That's what ALL politicians do - Say what everybody wants to hear. I remember a time 8 years ago when another presidential candidate said he was going to reach out across the aisle.

Where ya been Dan? One of my daughters works for home depot and was down your way working on the recovery from Ike. I havn't been down below lately, maybe thats why I havn't seen you around topside.

Obama has taken a right turn during the summer. The libs hoped he was faking it.
He didn't.

Personally, I don't mind it since he is left of me.

I remember a time 8 years ago when another presidential candidate said he was going to reach out across the aisle.
And he did. He is currently the Dems best asset.

Really? What do you think reflects this centrism?

One, thank you for acknowleding your dishonesty by nting that you'll simply dismiss disagreement as delusional.

Two, what about his voting record do you think reflects a "pretty much center" record?

Personally, Obama is way more middle of the road than I would prefer, but I am a realist as well.

Well, I think I now know why you consider him centrist, you're a far lefty yourself.

Well, that excuses Obama's lies then, huh?

Declaring that he'd reopen NAFTA unilaterally...you knew he was lying?
Declaring that he'd close Gitmo ASAP...you knew he was lying?
Declaring that he'd remove troops from Iraq in 16 months...you knew he was lying?
Reneging on his pledges to take public campaign financing...you knew he was lying?

So on and so forth?

And, yet, you still voted for him because you though that he'd repair the damage Bush has done?

This makes no sense. Obama promises to fix the nation, run on a platform of promises he never intended to fulfill and that you acknowledge you believed he was lying about...and you voted for him because he promised change?

Wow!

I'm...I...well, I'm without words...

It seems to me that Obama is behaving like a President confronted with a national crisis, and is responding from the center. Whether or not this is prudent is open to debate. Obama's record is certainly not one of a centrist, he's quite clearly a liberal. A simple perusal of his Change.gov: The Obama-Biden Transition Team website will illustrate that clearly enough.

I think he is more of a hawk then many on the left would like. However ive warmed too the man alot i think he is pragmatic.

Yeah responding from the center is what we've had for the last 8 years. You're awkward. Have you been alive the last 8 years?

An evaluation of the Presidency more than a month before inauguration. Quick trigger finger?
