Liar, Liar, pants on Fire. Here is Trump talking about classified information in 2016 and again in 2020

,

and now, trying to save his ass by saying that these are "his" presidential records that he has a right to keep.

Here is the Presidential Acts statute

Under the Presidential Records Act, all official material remains government property and has to be provided to the archives at the end of a president's term.

The Presidential Records Act does not even address the fact that these documents were classified. It simply states that the President must return ALL official government property. The Documents that Trump had did not belong to him. These were not documents that he created for himself (unlike Clinton whose videos were made by himself for himself). They were reports done by different agencies of the U.S. and that were given to him to read and act on "while he was president". After his presidential run was over, by law he had to return those documents to the government.

As such and knowing full well that the documents were classified and could fall into the hands of our enemies, makes him keeping the documents against the law but also puts him in the category of endangering the country by his actions (the espionage act). Here is the definition of the Espionage Act:

The Espionage Act of 1917 prohibited obtaining information, recording pictures, or copying descriptions of any information relating to the national defense with intent or reason to believe that the information may be used for the injury of the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation.

Trump had those documents for 18 months after he ceased being president. He was asked to return them and he lied and kept them. In addition, he did not keep them in a safe manner so that others who visited his home could not get their hands on them.

and now, we are seeing a person trying to lie, con, scam, and portray as truth the idea that he did not do this and is not guilty of it. He is doing this even with the fact that what he is doing is trying to help himself at the irreparable cost to the nation.

My gawd, how can any American approve of this man's actions. A liar, liar, pants on fire person.

Look man. It's not said with intend to offend even if it's offensive, but do we really need more threads re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-hashing the basics of Trump's documents case?

Developments are one thing. This is, well, see all those "re-"s?

I fully understand what you are saying and I agree with you whole-heartedly..........too many threads on this. By the same token, this is what continues to happen every day:

Yesterday at Miami

When this irrational supports stops, these overly redundant threads will stop as well. Trump continues to bring out the worst (not the best) in us.

There is nothing I want more than to put Trump in the rear-view mirror and forget about him. Nonetheless, we are facing the real possibility of him running for president in 2024 and perhaps even winning. Until that threat stops, this is what we will continue to see. This is a man that we CANNOT allow to run our country again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (just like your re,re,re,re...................)

I gotta give points for bravery for that "Lock Him Up" guy who appeared on the camera next to a Trumper when he was being interviewed. And I don't know what happened after the camera went off, but on camera, the Trumper told him off, but kept his cool. That situation could have gotten wildly out of hand. I understand that he later got into a confrontation, but I don't think it was the same Trumper.

Pales in comparison to the number of times Trump has lied.

Traitor trump repeats his lies over and over and over again, and his suckers believe him and follow suit. Perhaps the worshiping suckers who read this thread need to hear some truth and reality over and over and over again. Minute possibility it will sink in, but I'm optimistic.

Maybe there might be a few who become enlightened during the trial. But this has been done to death on DP. Are there any participates who genuinely don't know what he is alleged to do?

Seems like everyone knows, and the Trumpist cohort as always are the ones lying about it all.

Well, if the point of these threads is to convert someone from one side to the other -- y'all are failing in that regard. :P

One would think (or at least hope) that some common sense would enter a person's mind after repeated attempts to make him see.

When I started as a salesman some 50 years ago, I was shown and taught that people needed to hear something at least 7 times before they were able to digest the information.

(What is the rule of 7? The rule of 7 is based on the marketing principle that customers need to see your brand at least 7 times before they commit to a purchase decision. This concept has been aroundsince the 1930's when movie studios first coined the approach)

Then there is the 7-11-4 rule:

(Research by Google suggests that a buyer needs 7 hours of interaction, across 11 touch points, in 4 separate locations before they make a purchase.)

These days and with Social media being involved and able to supply so many lies over and over again, I have to believe the rule of 7 has to be extended to 30, or 40, or 50 or 100 before is filters in. Add to that the stupidity and ignorance factor, and the number almost becomes infinite.............and even then, no results could be the end result.

To end it all, this is a researched fact:

Why people are wired to believe what they want to believe

When thinking about the current political moment, it’s important to remember that as human beings we’re wired to interpret new information as confirming our beliefs and reject it if it runs counter to those beliefs.

First, there’s physiology. Sara Gorman, a public health specialist, and her father, Jack, a psychiatrist, explore this matter in their book Denying to the Grave: Why We Ignore the Facts That Will Save Us. They cite research that suggests that processing information that supports one’s beliefs leads to a dopamine rush, which creates feelings of pleasure. Moral psychologist Jonathan Haidt, author of The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion, says that “extreme partisanship may be literally addictive.”

When talking about addiction to something, this number pops up:

"21 million Americans suffer from addiction".

When considering there are about 30 million Trump supporters, the number seems to fit perfectly.

I see what you mean. Everyone already does know here about these things that are constantly repeated. But if you read the comments and question from rightwing nutters here, they act like they've never heard the facts. They're either playing stupid just to troll, or they truly are stupid. Could be either.

You would think after two Impeachments, the January 6th committee findings, and now two Indictments, we should all know the extent of his anti-American corruption. Of course the drooling fox suckers wouldn't know the truth if it bit them on their bloated asses.

Politics: the art of using euphemisms, lies, emotionalism and fear-mongering to dupe average people into accepting--or even demanding--their own enslavement.

Here is one more and recent (5 days ago) lie that Trump gave that proves he is a liar, liar, pants on fire person to the nth degree:

Trump, after his arraignment on Tuesday, went to the Cuban-American restaurant called Versailles and when there he said "Food for everyone"

Nonetheless, this was the end result:

Surprise: Trump Reportedly Stiffed a Restaurant Full of His Supporters He’d Promised to Buy Lunch

Treat his fan club to a spread of croquetas, pastelitos, and cubanos chased with cafecitos? It turns out no one got anything. Not even a cafecito to-go. A knowledgeable source assures New Times that Donald Trump’s stop at Versailles totaled about ten minutes, leaving no time for anyone to eat anything, much less place an order.
