LGBTQ is what?

That is such a bizarre interpretation of my comment. Why talk about someones private sexual preferences?

Indeed!
Why are you talking about the “sexual preferences” of others?

I believe in the obvious, that we are either born female or male. Someones sexual preferences do not change their biological birth gender.

Sexual preferences or sexual orientation?

For the vast majority of gay men, for example, biological sex and gender are the same. The trans community is a small percentage of the population even if cultural conservatives are reacting as if half the country is vociferously demanding reassignment surgery.

So you are not into LGBTQ? You seem antagonistic toward the subject.

I'm tired of hearing about it. There are other problems in the world.

Nice to hear a voice of reason as there are many here that seem to think sexual orientation is one of our most prescient problems.

Word soup.

Sexual orientation has never been any more of a problem for most people than the fact that some people are left handed. Why exactly is it a problem for you and other conservatives? The GOP have made it an issue for 2+ decades and their voters have slavishly played along by sticking their nose into the bedroooms of others where they are not desired.

Then kindly stop replying to these threads.

Reading comprehension issues? There is no problem with peoples sexual orientation within the GOP, that is just a leftist made BS to get you lefties TDSing. When has the GOP made sexual orientation an issue?

Marriage equality and other civil rights issues for LGBT people since about 2000. Conservatives have been harassing people over their sexual orientation since the 1970s with the laughable gay agenda and then AIDS. It wasn't the liberals that attacked LGBT people at Stonewall.

Homosexuals cannot reproduce, so they must recruit,” Bryant argued during her 1970s “Save Our Children” campaign against a local Florida ordinance banning sexual orientation-based discrimination, LGBTQ Nation reported. “What these people really want, hidden behind obscure legal phrases, is the legal right to propose to our children that theirs is an acceptable alternate way of life.”

Together with fellow conservative Christian activist pastor Jerry Falwell Sr., Bryant crusaded against the ordinance, using a variety of strategies that became the basis for anti-LGBTQ activism for decades to come. During a 1977 news conference, Bryant was famously pied in the face.

Now that marriage equality was decided by the SCOTUS in 2015, the GOP have decided to turn their attention to trans people, first with bathroom use and then sports participation and now by attacking transgender care providers.

So you think preachers of religions should marry people in a matter that goes against their religion? Fascist. I agree the gay agenda is laughable, Aids had nothing to do with republicans. Stonewall? 1969? are you sure the attackers were not democrats? I mean they were responsible for all the bigotry and racism forever. But then 1969? Things have changed a lot in 52 years.

Nobody has ever said that or even cares. This claim is nonsense that is stirred up by fundamentalist preachers to create more hate for LGBT, to generate revenue and a feeling of being persecuted by their fact-free pew-filling idiots. Both Obama and the SCOTUS made it clear in a statement that this wasn't true just after the decision was announced in June of 2015.

The Obergefell decision only applies to marriage as a secular civil contract between 2 consenting adults and the state. Each religion gets to decide who they will an wont marry. No church has ever been forced to marry an interracial couple despite the fact that the Loving v. Virginia marriage decision in 1970 because a religious sacrament is not a constitutional right. Many churches are LGBT friendly and will marry a LGBT couple. Individual churches have always had the constitutional right because of the First Amendment to marry who they want, even when the couple in question is white, heterosexual and a member of the church. The RCC has a long list of marriage demands that any couple must comply with.

The attackers at Stonewall were bigoted cops.

L=Lesbian, G = gay/homosexual generally applied to men as the word Lesbian covers female homosexuality, B = Bisexual which is a combination of heterosexual and homosexual behavior,T=Trans which covers sexually confused individual that feel they need to change their sex from what they were born with,Q=queer also covers homosexuality. So most of the letter acronyms cover homosexuality got it. Trans is not as clear. Is sex a prime motivator in wanting to change gender? Do trans people make the effort to change their gender from what they were born with to have sex with individuals of their previous sex?
Do some research, you've got a ways to go to get in the same ballpark.

Queer does not necessarily cover homosexuality, at least not for all. In the effort to reclaim the term, it has been linked to not just sexuality, but also to gender identity. For some it means sexual orientation, for others gender identity and still others it's an umbrella term for anyone not cisgender heterosexual. Regardless, the community supports any who makes use of the label.

Questioning is what?

In this context it means the person knows they are different, but doesn't really feel any other label fits, or that they are not quite sure what it is they are experiencing/feeling.

Intersex is what?

Unlike the one answer given of body parts of both sexes, it refers to ambiguous genitalia or conflicts between the genitalia and the DNA. For example, a person with AIS has an XY chromosome pair, but are born with a vagina. A simplistic intersex condition could also be the ureathal open for a penis somewhere along the shaft instead of on the head. Or it could be an oversized clitoris that looks like a tiny penis when born. There is a large range of Intersex conditions.

Asexual is either not accepting that you are a sexual human being?

Asexual simply means that the person has no sexual attractions to anyone else. Now a myth of this sexual orientation is that it means the person also has no sexual drive. While true for some, it it not universally true. Many asexuals do have sex, but it becomes a matter of choosing a partner they trust instead of one that sexually attracts them.

Why is it so often that people who go through with sex change operations commit suicide?

The question is why do they commit suicide? If the reason is being bullied and harassed, then being transgender or having transitioned is not relevant to having commit suicide. However, the reality is that less transgenders who transition commit suicide, than those who do not transition. Further, a higher number of those who detransition commit suicide than those who complete transition. I cover the details, including links, in this post.

I was raised on air force bases oversees, no racism, nobody trying to be special over their sexual orientation. That was a good era.
No one is trying to be special in their sexual orientation. They are trying to not be sidelined or harassed or denied rights simply because they are who they are.

You miss the point, we could always exist side by side. There is nothing special about today. The left has split the country in half with lies and underhanded deals. We have far more important things to worry about than other peoples sexual preferences.
Obviously you have not been on the receiving end of being outside the mainstream. When blacks and gays and transgenders get beaten and killed just for existing, how is that existing side by side? Even now, while less than it ued to be, these groups are still threatened by others.

Why exactly would a Cisgender heterosexual man identify as queer? He can certainly do it but why would he want to, unless this is the first step of coming out of the closet?
Probably some if us older ones who grew up on queer meaning strange not homosexual. As a geek, I am definitely quite queer. I'm also rather gay a lot too, having grown up with the Flintstones having a gay ol' time and donning my gay apparel.

Can you note mass abuses of LGBTQ being sidelined, harassed or denied rights in 2023? this century would be good?

Not at all, I was a long haired biker when being a long haired biker was not considered OK by the cops and many others. Did not care what others thought of me, their bigotry meant nothing to me, exactly what my middle finger was put in use for. But yes I was thrown in jail for ugly (doing nothing wrong) in a no ugly zone many times. Got over it, no sweat, no tears, do not hate the system. It would behoove the snowflakes to take a similar tack, sniveling is a pitiful way to express yourself.

Hetero/homosexual is based on the sex of the people you're attracted to, not their gender.
While this has been the case in the past, it is not holding true any more. There are people out there who are more attracted to gender than they are to sex. I count myself among them. I am attracted to women whether they are male or female. But female men, even pre-op, hold no attraction to me. For now, heterosexual or maybe heteroflexable, are the closest things I have for labels. I reject bisexual because that would imply all men and women, all males and females and that simply is not true.

What is a " No Ugly Zone"

Is a a trans-female who is attracted to a hetero' male, is she gay or heterosexual?
By the model of labeling a person by their sex to denote attraction, gay. By the model of using gender, assuming the heteromale is also cis, straight. It's one of the reasons why I am beginning to like the labels of gyno-and andro-sexual. A straight male and a gay female would both be gynosexual. Once you get rid of the issue of the sex or gender or whatever of the one being attracted, it gets simplier.
