Let's make this simple. If trump runs again in 2024 will you vote for him?

All it takes is for them to find a new messiah. Hell, DeSantis was starting to steal some of his "thunder", and Trump immediately took notice and did an interview where he said he would consider DeSantis for merely a "VP". That wasn't a coincidence.
It's not just Trumpers who would need to vote for them though. I can't imagine either of them winning the general election. DeSantis is too far right and Trump is too disliked.

No, but I'll vote against him.

Just curious......who could possibly be worse than Trump?
realistically . . . .NOBODY

theres not one person i can think of left right or center that could actually be a legit candidate that would be worse than Donnie

God no. Who would be so stupid as to vote for Trump?
Any thinking person.

I remember. I voted for him. Boy, when I told my dad, he was furious with me for 'throwing away my vote.' I really wish third party was stronger; it's more like a protest vote, although Ross had a pretty good showing in '92.
This is a side effect of the winner takes all nature of the election.

My prediction is about a decade from now, hell even less, you'll be able to count on one hand the amount of people who will admit to being Trump voters. Remember how fast Republican voters abandoned Dubya? It will happen with Trump eventually.
You are already proven wrong about that. Trump is fortunate to have a clearly worse President take over.

realistically . . . .NOBODY
Realistically, Joe Biden. It's already proven.

theres not one person i can think of left right or center that could actually be a legit candidate that would be worse than Donnie
You have me on legit candidate. Everyone knew Biden was just an empty-suit playing frontman.

The problem is that there are few candidates of either party who are as good, much less better. But, take heart. Trump will not run again.

nope 😂

besides all of them, every person i can think of that could realistically be the nomination is better . . . .
i mean the bar isnt set high at all, Donnie was easily the worst president of my life time and it will take years to fix what he broke🤷‍♂️

When you voted third party you helped Trump win. You and many others. I'm looking at you, Bernie supporters. You stayed home and contributed to the biggest political fiasco in this country's history.
Here's the thing, the disdain, the dislike and not wanting neither major party candidate to become the next president in 2016 was really high. This included 54% of all independents. 2016 was like both major parties dug down as deep into the barrel to get and nominate the most disliked and unwanted candidate as possible. So Trump's election was the fault of both major parties.

A further study show those who voted third party in 2016 some 9 million voters. CNN showed that if no third party candidate had been on the ballot for these 9 million voters to vote against both major party candidates, with only Trump and Clinton on the ballot, 19% would have voted for Trump, 16% for Clinton, 65% wouldn't have voted at all. So the third party vote actually helped out Clinton.

Without the third party vote against both major party candidates, Trump would have received 1,71 million more votes, Hillary 1.44 million more votes using the number of folks who voted third party in 2016.

Surprised to hear you say this. Not the part about being fed up with Democrats, but it's basically a 99.9% guarantee that if Trump isn't the nominee in 2024, it will be someone in the mold of Trump. Because the GOP base sure as hell isn't nominating a "moderate" in 2024, and I know you know that. It's either Trump, or a Trump clone, and I don't see you voting for that.
2024 is a long way off. This is how I feel today. 2016 is an example when I voted third party against both major party candidates. However, had almost any other Republican run against Clinton other than Trump, I'd have voted Republican. Had almost any other other Democrat ran against Trump other than Clinton, I'd have voted Democratic. The key word here or phrase is almost any other.

I should have added that phrase. I don't know how I'll feel come 2024 or who I'll want in 2024 until it becomes 2024. Today, almost any other republican if I'm fed up with the Democrats would be accurate. If Trump runs again, almost any other democrat. I've voted third party in 1992, 1996, 2012 and 2016. I have no problem in doing so. Mainly because I want my vote officially registered as being against both major party candidates. Abet each election was for totally different reasons.

- One issue is so far she has not shown much in dealing with the immigration issues on the southern border.
Trump is an egotistical person, but at least immigration seemed trending in the right direction.

It is too early to really decide. Once we know who are the candidates for the General election I will review each candidate on their merits and decide.
Well we are each entitled to our opinions but immigration is one of the Myriad of issues where things were going horribly badly under Trump and have improved greatly under Biden/Harris.

I dunno. I keep hearing that, but no one seems to be slowing down yet, and he lost almost a year ago. They seem crazier about him than ever! Bush didn't have a cult following. This is mass delusion, like the Salem Witch Trials. They've gone nuts.

Already happening, he's losing the independents and his support from registered republicans has dropped to 78%.

In a poll of more than 2,100 people between Aug. 3 and Sept. 7, 63% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents said they wanted Trump as leader of the Republican Party, with 37% disagreeing. But on the question of the 2024 presidential race, only 51% said Republicans would have a better chance of winning the White House if Trump was running; 49% said another candidate would have a better chance. Trump’s support was greater among self-identifying conservatives and Republicans.

Also, DeSantis has caught him in a recent poll as well.

The poll was released Wednesday and conducted by GOP pollster Carter Wrenn on behalf of the super PAC of Trump's former national security adviser John Bolton. It found that while Trump still had the support of 26.2 percent of Republican voters, DeSantis was close behind at 25.2 percent. Support for Trump plummeted since a survey in July when he was the top choice for 46 percent of Republicans. Meanwhile, support for DeSantis nearly doubled from 13 percent in July.

Not in my opinion.

He has been a huge improvement.

Trump will go down as the single worst president in American History. Bet on it.
Idiots are abundant in America so I’m not surprised at your prediction

From the looks of it, the publishers cannot get the next Trump book on the newsstands fast enough. Damn near everyone who worked for the Trump administration has some dirt to dish. And remember, these were "only the best people, believe me."

When the actual historians get done with him, Trump will undoubtedly be recognized as the biggest mistake in the history of U.S. politics.

Yup, we saw about 74 million of them in 2020.

You are correct. We can have our own opinions.

I do not agree things are better under Biden / Harris as far as immigration.

I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire.

Not a huge fan of Kamala either but after Jan 6th its a no brainer to not vote for Trump

It would have to be a real radical looser running against Trump on the Dems side to get me to vote for Trump.
My concern if Trump got elected he would go on a vengeance trip and tear the country further apart.

Absolutely not.

Of course! (If I am still here. I am 84 now.)

I would consider a Democrat who is exceptionally mature (i.e., he declines to demonize Mr. Trump but just pokes fun at him in a playful manner) and who is moderate and has the courage to respectfully disagree with the woke elements of his party. Of course, such a person probably could not get nominated.

Because of the dizzying demographic changes in this nation (heck! those changes are faster than the Taliban taking over Kabul!), the Republicans may never again win the Presidency -- unless the Republican candidate becomes a de facto moderate Democrat.
Thanks for telling us your age. It makes sense you would vote to throw away elections since you would likely not see the results of a USA without elections in 20 or 30 years.

Do you mean in the primaries? If yes, then probably not. But if Trump gets the nomination, then he will obviously be better than whichever leftist shitstain the Dumbocrats run.
Another vote against elections. My, how Americans have changed.
