Over the last fifty years, every Republican President has seen a recession, while we have had only one recession begin under a Democrat, a short six month recession under Carter.

Over the last forty years every Republican President has created a deficit at least double the previous record. Over that same time, every Democratic President (including already Biden) has cut the deficit by half or more.

The last three Democratic Presidents (including Biden) have all seen unemployment effectively cut in half. The last two Republicans both saw it effectively double.

Over the last fifty years, despite holding the Presidency for only 22 years compared to Republicans holding it 28, stock market return has been just over 100% under Republicans and just shy of 1,000% under Democrats. Over 42 million jobs have been created under Democrats compared to only 24 million under Republicans. Income growth averaged 2.2% under Democrats compared to 0.6% under Republicans. GDP growth averaged 4.1% under Democrats compared to 2.7% under Republicans

Going back to Truman, four of the five Presidents who have seen the largest increase in domestic oil production were Democrats (with Trump scoring the number five spot and Obama placing first). Only six Presidents over that time have seen domestic oil production fall, and five of them were Republicans.

Since 1980, The abortion rate held steady under Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43. It fell under both Clinton and Obama, and under Trump rose for the first time since the 1970’s.

Since the Nixon Administration, 338 members of Presidential administrations have been indicted on criminal charges. Three of these were in Democratic administrations, 335 were in Republican administrations.

In the last century, only two Presidents have lost jobs during their administrations, both Republicans (Hoover and Trump)

Over the last 80 years, five of the six Presidents with the highest job creation were Democrats, with only Reagan making the list. (Current rankings are Clinton, Reagan, Biden, Obama, Johnson, and Carter, with Biden likely to move into second place before the end of his first term.)

Ten of the eleven safest states in the Union are blue or lean blue with Utah the only red state. Fifteen of the sixteen least safe states are red, with Georgia being the only non-red state in that mix (and until recently we would have considered Georgia a red state). (Scores based on a combination of personal safety, road safety, financial safety, and emergency preparedness.)

Four of the five states with the highest poverty rate are deep red (New Mexico being the only blue state). Four of the five states with the lowest poverty rates are blue or lean blue, with Utah the only red state.

The five states with the best education are all blue. Four of the five states with the worst education are deep red, with New Mexico the only blue state.

Four of the five states with the highest incarceration rates are deep red, with Delaware the only blue state. Four of the five with the lowest incarceration rates are blue or lean blue with North Dakota the only red state.

The ten states with a the best healthcare are all blue. The five states with the worst healthcare are all red. In fact ten of the bottom eleven are all red with Georgia being the only exception.

Eight of the ten states who pay the highest Federal income tax per capita are blue. (That’s per capita, so population isn’t a factor.) Eight of the ten states who rely most on Federal funding are red.

The five states with the highest covid death rates were all red. Three of the five with the lowest death rates are blue with Alaska and Utah the only exception.

Okay. Those are just unbiased, easily verifiable facts.

I'd really love to hear any one of our righties dispute this information.

Okay. Those are just unbiased, easily verifiable facts. You're trying to be logical here, and that doesn't work with cons.

They are, and this is why cons go with moral issues, and issues of those who think their woes are caused by other people. It's why DeSantis runs on anti woke. It's why Pence is running on an abortion ban. It's why Ramaswamy is running on climate hoax. It's all they've got. You'll notice that Republican representatives spew out religious based convictions, and inner city issues related to race. There's nothing the left can do to change those issues because they don't run on exclusion, they run on inclusion, and that right there is what separates the two parties. The right is a club, and the left lets everyone in, even the riff raff. This is why fear works so well as a sell for the Republicans.

It's why to the left it looks at the right as if cons vote against their own best interests. But they're not. What cons vote for is the right to KEEP their religious beliefs and their guns. God, Guts, and Guns. They're voting to keep their view of others. White is right. Not for a better existence because you know, Jesus suffered, and so can they if it means they get to keep on believing. Social issues dominate their platform, so do religious issues.

Look at the difference between right and left extremist groups. https://www.ojp.gov/ncjrs/virtual-l...-violent-left-and-right-wing-extremist-groups
The left-wing groups arose during the late 1960's, whereas right-wing groups have been a problem throughout much of the Nation's history. Left-wing groups emphasize class struggle and support for people in the Third World, whereas right-wing groups often believe in-white supremacy, extremes of Christianity and patriotism, and involvement in the survivalist movement.

Thank you for the research.

Just in case I thought I might be wrong creaming the Republicans.

Don't forget, the Republicans ruled the eight years before the Great Depression.

Bush took a booming surplus and handed over the Great recession.

Then they said, "Bush said, "We're going to borrow it." But now Obama, no more borrowing, no more stimulus, no education, no highways, no minimum wage, repeal Obamacare and have nothing, how are you going to pay for Obamacare now? Thanks for extending our tax cut abomination, the guilty party, we'll use the legitimacy to defeat you in the midterm. Let's see, no progress until we're in power, Trump, Trump, Trump, no remove (what lesson did they give us)?

At the pandemic revenue was not keeping up with deficit.

Insurrection, big lie. Why?

Because I was bad? Oh, they shake their heads uh ha.

We're just unlucky.

Because we started forming Parties?

No, it's the Tribulation, the White Horse (2020-2030.5) we just passed mid the first week.

Trump's almost a go (a whisky a go go) but we can do better (Boehner), so let's see, if we don't like it, we can go back with the Republicans and they'll sure tear it all up.

Trump would be interesting though, him and Un, the Antichrist, sorry Russian troll, you don't tempt me.

Thankfully, Biden has ten to Trump's five.

Very good list; though about half is about states, not presidents; and the above seems not quite accurate.

It leaves off JFK, whose first term was completed by LBJ, and had high job growth as well, 10.99%, higher than Clinton or Obama.

Going by this chart:

Over the last fifty years, every Republican President has seen a recession, while we have had only one recession begin under a Democrat, a short six month recession under Carter.

That is probably why the Republicans have only won a plurality of the popular votes ONCE...since 1992.

Only once.

That is probably why the Republicans have only won a plurality of the popular votes ONCE...since 1992.

Even that one time - 2004 - is controversial. Putting aside that the 2000 election was stolen, so Bush shouldn't even have been an incumbent in 2004; putting aside the huge political boost Bush ironically got from the 9/11 attack; there were a lot of questions about the results of the election.

Rep. John Conyers led an investigation into the Ohio results, where a highly partisan Republican Secretary of State had helped create suspicions.

His investigation "reported that it had found enough irregularities in Ohio to call into question the state election results and the entire presidential vote. A report by the Democratic Party released last year found "evidence of voter confusion, voter suppression, and negligence and incompetence of election officials.""

Bush might have won in 2004, but it wasn't exactly a strong win.

I just read this when it appeared today on my Facebook page and was going to post it. No one seems interested enough to discuss it. I especially noticed that no Republican, right leaning poster has commented. Maybe it's because they have no valid response to it. It needs to be disseminated far and wide. Also, here is an article in the NYT that repeats the data as far as just the presidents. It's 2-1/2 years old but still on point. In fact, I would bet that the numbers for Biden now are even better.

Let's be fair here. R presidents got dealt some pretty bad hands the past 30 years

Indeed. I take their silence as an acknowledgement the the hard, cold facts clearly demonstrate the massive benefits to everyday Americans of Democratic administrations.

Sometimes silence speaks volumes.

And yes, this information needs to be front and center of any and all Democratic ads.

That is probably why the Republicans have only won a plurality of the popular votes ONCE...since 1992.

Only once.

They should have won the presidency exactly zero times over that period. The plurality of the popular vote was the 2nd Bush term.

Republicans have nothing to say to it because they don't care about honesty, the good of the country, or such relevant issues, they're like drug addicts just looking to 'score points' and don't have talking points they've been handed for these facts. So on to the next thread to defend gun rights or repost attacks on Hunter.

And yes, this information needs to be front and center of any and all Democratic ads.

I've long said Democrats need to stop running on current issues and start running on party versus party over the long term. Democrats wipe the floor with Republicans. But I rarely see it used.

Let's see, Clinton gave Bush Jr. a very good economy and Bush turned it into the worst recession since the great depression. Obama gave Trump a great economy and Trump turned it into a recession. Now Biden is building a great economy, will the next GO president turn it to crap again? For over the past 100 years or more the economy has grown more under Dem presidents. I still wonder why GOOP voters think it is the other way around. I would say lack of education.

You aren't being fair at all.

What did Bush have to do with banks giving out bad loans?

How was anybody supposed to get out of Covid, a global pandemic, unscathed?

That's just bad luck on their part it was their time when it happened.

What did Bush have to do with banks giving out bad loans?

His right-wing government philosophy of deregulation and regulatory capture, there wasn't any way the Bush administration was going to monitor the situation and prevent the crash. It made him culpable, a bit analogously to how his total removal of the anti-Al Queda effort made him complicit is not preventing 9/11.
How was anybody supposed to get out of Covid, a global pandemic, unscathed?

It's estimated by experts that hundreds of thousands more Americans were killed by Covid than would have been because of trump's mismanagement of it.

That's just bad luck on their part it was their time when it happened.

That's what Republicans say to tell falsehoods that their terrible and corrupt governing is fine.

It's not.

But it keeps the cult happy.

Covid. The entire world shut down. Everyone got infected.

Housing market can't be blame on Bush. Seems very irrational.

What did Bush have to do with banks giving out bad loans?
Yeah, as much as it pains me to say it, that was Clinton signing off on Newt Gingrich's bullshit, and Bush had no means by which to prevent the results, even if he could see it coming, which I doubt.

Covid. The entire world shut down. Everyone got infected.

Post 19.

Of course you ignore that.

While Bush and Trump cannot be blamed 100% for those events, they definitely share responsibility, especially considering their policies exacerbated the problems.

He didn't mention the Savings and Loan crash with Reagan. Nothing to do with Reagan deregulating Savings and Loans for the first time since FDR...
