If he said that, then yes, I agree with you completely. However, it's a "He Said, She Said" at this point, and I don't easily believe either of them. Can I believe that he would say such a thing... Oh yeah, no doubt about it. But until I hear it on a recording or video, I tend to also believe at this point that Stahl could be adding to the quote either knowingly or subconsciously - it isn't hard for our brains to remember what we assume a person meant and add flourishes to quotes from that long ago. I know she's a professional reporter, but she also has a well documented pro-Democrat anti-Republican sway to her reporting, not to say for sure that is true here.
My only point is, I try not to let my confirmation bias allow me to instantly believe things from either the press or politicians just because I can easily see how whatever they may be saying could be true and fit my preconceived view of the target of what they're saying.
That said, Again, I have no problem believing that Trump would do such a thing. The actual funny part is, all politicians manipulate like this, and Trump is so freaking arrogant that he has no problem admitting it because he truly believes that even if he admits what he's doing (like what he said about shooting a person in the street) that his supporters will continue to support him, regardless. That's the funny part. The sad and scary part is he's probably right about his supporters.
