Agreed it would. But the media would also have to give more air time to women and the sponsors give more sponsorship to women. Which they are unlikely to do because the focus is and has always been on men sports which already brings in billions of dollars to them. The problem is not the dollars in profits. It is the patriarchal set up in your society that favours men over women.

You get my point. By and large, people find the wnba boring. There are women sports that bring in revenue, tennis comes to mind. But not basketball. And this is coming from someone who is hardly even watching the nba anymore. College basketball is the only hoops I watch much of anymore.
The WNBA gets over 2000 people in their arenas at every game. So I don't think people are not watching. Nielsen ratings show WNBA TV audiences are growing across ESPN, CBS, ION, and NBA TV — with non-Fever games seeing a 37% year-over-year jump. You don't represent all viewers just because you find the games boring. You can't compare a team sport to a individual sport like tennis.
