As I mentioned many months ago, the worst imaginable nightmare scenario is the union of leftist politics with far-right fascist politics. In other words, you can have social spending, welfare, healthcare, etc... but these benefits must go to the dominant class of people in society first. It's HERE:

If this takes hold in America, the Democrats will be in terrible shape, as many people will sacrifice their neighbor for a better quality of life. You have no idea what this could unleash. And this IS the next play for the far-right in America.

So...reading through her policies and positions, it's pretty clear she considers the "dominant class" that you mention to be "French citizens". Yes, I can see how that could resonate with people who are having to compete with non-citizens in their own country.

But don't worry about that kind of thing happening in the US. Our "social spending, etc." isn't quite as pervasive as it seems to be in France and our non-citizen problems aren't like those in France. France has a lot of problems with "legal immigrants". We have a lot of problems with "illegal immigrants". Illegal immigrants shouldn't be receiving any social spending in the first place.

Aren't they already doing this here?

Naw it’s pretty clear that to her only White Christian natives are “French”. She doesn’t consider legal immigrants as French or real citizens. One of her campaign policies is to deport legal immigrants if they commit a crime.

shrug...

The US will deport a legal immigrant if they commit a crime. Is that a bad thing?

And why should any immigrant be considered a citizen if they haven't gone through the process to become a citizen?

My daughter-in-law was an immigrant...until she swore an oath and became a naturalized citizen of the US. Before she did that, she never considered herself to be a citizen and nobody else did either.

Looks to me like Le Pen is trying to make France a bit more like the US is right now.

There are quite a few in France that doesn’t want to admit that it is a multicultural society as a result of their colonial past.

They would rather everyone think of themselves as French with some French considered more French than others.
