I hear Latvian Waffen SS veterans are going to mark the next anniversary of their Legion’s formation not only marching through the streets of Latvia’s capital Riga. They want to organize a large-scale military parade to honor of their comrades who died fighting on the Nazis’ side during the Second World War.
And what about the heavy spending of such events during current economic and financial crisis, pals? It is clear that these plans cannot be realized without our government’s help, because any military parade is associated with numerous difficulties (from great financial expenditures on various organization obstacles, related to security concerns). But frankly speaking, I cannot understand that such involvement of our official power in glorification of Nazism makes no waves in Brussels now…
