Agree. It is possible to believe both that it is wrong for mobs to attack people and that it is wrong for law enforcement to casually engage in escalated violence against the non-violent. This isn't some kind of stupid, zero-sum situation where the bad deed of one actor means another gets a freebie
Remember how nice and peaceful things were for the past 4 years?Agree.
This time, it has been a purposeful escalation - on the part of the federal govt to start with in how they are conducting these ICE deportations and operations.
And then the LAPD was brought in and made things worse.
Now we have the federal government continuing the escalation by federally mobilizing the CANG.
Against the wishes of the governor who is out there saying, plainly, they are NOT properly prepared at this juncture to de-escalate this situation.
None of this has been necessary. Absolutely NONE.
It’s an intentional escalation. And people are getting hurt. Unnecessarily.
The difference between having a statesman at the top vs. a provocateur.Remember how nice and peaceful things were for the past 4 years?
Didn't take long to go back to violent chaos, did it.
The Governor and elected officials of California had nothing to do with this, and Newsom has stated that he will sue the US government. This was all Trump's initiative; the blame and responsibility rests entirely with him.
This entire escalation wouldn’t have occurred if this administration didn’t send in federal agents in military style vehicles and military style gear with their faces covered acting without warrants in hand.
The administration and federal agencies have PURPOSEFULLY escalated ICE activities to this level.
They are responsible for the outcomes of that escalation.
TrumpWhy hold the federal government responsible for the actions of LAPD officers?
Yet even they objected to the army being brought in...LAPD has a long sordid history with abuse of power
Because it was federal agents that were appearing like they were in Baghdad or Afghanistan and snatching people that were following a legal process and at USCIS or the courts for immigration appointments. They were masked and refused to provide badge numbers or ID. That escalated the situation and that is the fault of Donald TrumpWhy hold the federal government responsible for the actions of LAPD officers?
Than to stand with her back turned near the LAPD with their guns drawn?Perhaps an American reporter would have more common sense.
Trump
LAPD are doing their best, it seems!I don't think MAGA will be happy until they kill people.
It does look intentional, but we only see one angle, who was behind her? beside her? other side of street ?
What traffic? The cops standing still? Why is the "reporter" standing in the middle of the road and impeding traffic? Is she unfamiliar with how roads work? Are things so different in Australia?
Anyone who does the news? What kind of reporter stands between protesters and police? Dumb shit of the year award goes to…
The jedi tactic. Stop defending a shitty person.Camera turns around to show protesters on the other side. We’ve all seen the video. She wasn’t shot in the head. She grabbed her leg. Your description of the video is way off.
The actions of the federal agents are what instigated the escalation. This conflicts with your post #57, which (rightfully) held the LAPD shooter responsible.
The actions of the federal agents are what instigated the escalation.
LAPD have overreacted and leant to the violence, including their own bad actions.
If the federal agents didn’t entice and incite violence in the first place, none of this would have happened.
Shes in a fairly normal place for a reporter to be.Couldn’t find a journalist with common sense?
They don’t need to dress like they’re bombing Baghdad and roll into residential neighborhoods in what look like military vehicles, wearing what appears to be military gear - with their faces covered and not producing warrants but instead walking around carrying rifles.ICE agents doing their jobs isn’t inciting violence, but you be you.
