Kristi Noem grateful for God's Plan in TX flood

Good choice.

Ptah fits well because the Hebrews copied his work. Long before quill was put to papyrus writing the Old Testament, the Memphis Theology of Egypt held that Ptah created with his thoughts and speech, just like "The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created," and various other Bible verses.

The belief in creation by thought and word was already ancient by the time Moses was rescued from the Nile.
It's probably as old as scared cavemen wondering what the hell lightning was.

It's not hard for me to know.

1. I don't think you have the heft to question what God can and cannot do.
My favorite Christian writer, Vattimo:

"Well, I believe that I believe." From perhaps the most important Christian text* since Bonhoeffer's Cost of Discipleship:

Vattimo's statement of faith is the only recognizably true one; as a non-believer, it is the one I know I can most likely trust, since it does not obligate the non-Christian to participate with Christians in the world we share, making real dialogue possible.

Any other statement of faith that asserts a truth about the universe, its creation, or its purpose, prevents or actively degrades dialogue, and therefore society.

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!! Thank you, Jesus!!!!!

Apparently she and Abbott spent almost a half hour polishing each other's something something before any information was shared.

I think this country will eventually become a Christian theocratic republic, probably sometime in the next 10-15 years.

Already is. The Hobby Lobby case was the cliché Rubicon, not just crossed, but drained and then diverted.

They REJECTED all previous attempts by the state as too costly. They refused to put up the cash.

You need to check your sources or, start using them.
The "theys " seem to be interchangeable. True, they refused to put up the cash, the reason the alerts were never delivered.

I'm comfortable with my sources, and my posts.

It's bigger than that. They're going to engage in a massive voter purge that targets purple/blue states. We'll have one-party rule within the next 4-8 years. Once this is a reality at the state level in 35-40 states, a constitutional convention will be proposed. At first, even conservatives will think, 'Nah, this is nuts.' But the idea will stick.

I've never read it, but I probably should. I'm interested in philosophy and love dogs. The last dog we had was a yellow Lab that was part of our family for 15 years. I frequently wondered how much similar, and different, her understanding of the world was from ours. We felt crushed when we had to let her pass away.
Mine is 11.

No argument from me. Except maybe the CC part. Insufficient data, right now. I just think it happened already; I think the first test of concept will be a narrow reading of legal identity that strips married women without passports of the franchise.

Suffer the children and all who lost their lives. May they not have died in vain and may their memories be a blessing.

I have read neither Vittimo nor McLaren. It seems both offer nothing more than the latest in a very long line of efforts to remove the devinity of Christ from Christianity and turn it into just another idea of how to behave well. They seem to misunderstand the "central message" of Christianity. It isn't a list of Rabbinical lessons on how to love your neighbor. The central message is God's entry into the world as a man to die for forgiveness of the sins of man, and His resurrection to later return as the Messiah.

The Christianity I believe in is the Christianity of G.K. Chesterton, Rene Descartes John Wesley, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Well, no. They just aren't reiterating imperial Roman assertions about truth.

And Bonhoeffer being stolen by rightists is a crime.

Nobody but your all powerful god, if it exists, could have done it.

Why didn't your all powerful god save their lives, after he created the flood? That is if she/he exists...

I like turtles. They are cute, except for snapping turtles. They are jerks. I had a painted turtle as a pet as a kid.

Study His word and contemplate. Talk to Him and ask.

Bonhoeffer belongs to everyone, not just leftists. And he owes much of his faith to black church congregations in NYC.

Closed epistemic loops hurt your religion. I'm fine with it. I probably should be encouraging you, but I also think the world needs Christians who aren't certain of everything.

No, no he doesn't. To seize Bonhoeffer, you had to strip him of context, history, his writings, and his death.

It's a crime.

I'm sure next you guys will find ways to make prisoners of Hennacy, Berrigan and Berdyaev.
