[W:1185] Kristi Noem’s New Book Includes a Bizarrely Detailed Account of Killing Her Pet Dog

Puppies and a lot of dogs are like toddlers, getting into everything. In Charlie's case it's as if a toddler was 6'4" 200 lbs.

The boxer was the real troublemaker, and the beagle/boxer just followed along. He was actually the best behaved of the two, but damn that boxer had so much personality. I would sell my soul to have them back. When we got the boxer (both were shelter dogs), she already had her ears done. They had both been pickup up running loose, and I can not understand why their previous owners did not visit every shelter daily to find them before they were adopted out. Gremlin (male) on the left, Mocha (female) on the right. She used to stalk him like a lion. This was a couch that was not eaten.

Don't be so sure of that. South Dakota has mostly rural constituents. Only one city of any size - Sioux Falls.
I am rural.

What she did is disgusting.

And even big names in MAGA know its disgusting.

different topic and would be glad to meet you there

Yes. Your lesson concludes that people are no different from animals to you, yet you have no problem putting a bullet in the head of a family pet, because "it's just a dog." Hmmm....

"I hated that dog"

I think she would have found more support had she not expressed such malice toward the dog before she shot it dead. Same with the goat, really. She did express some sadness over having to put down horses.

This is Pinto. He was a package deal along with a chihuahua and a cat when I married my girlfriend. He's a loveable little goofball who loves baby carrots, getting scratched, and sitting outside enjoying the scents carried on the wind. He stinks something fierce when he's been out in the sun too long. :p

Great expression on Pinto’s face.

Could be “Who’re you callin’ stinky?”, or “Hurry up, I gotta poop”, or “It wasn’t me”. 😄

She couldnt train a dog, then she hated the dog and then she shot the dog. Totally normal behavior.

Cosplaying rugged outdoor type is fun when you are an authoritarian.
Exactly. Same mindset as Don Jr. being escorted out to an animal so he can shoot it and pose next to its corpse.

What Don Jr. Did isn't hunting it's posing.

if you don't know the difference you are a poser not a hunter.

Oh cool. You have a private, and no doubt self serving definition.

In the country people kill dogs that harass livestock all the time. In the city we pay people to capture stray dogs and euthanize them. The end result isn't a lot different for the dogs. If you live in the city you are condoning the killing of dogs and you are paying to have it done.

My brother lives in the country. He has dogs dumped on him pretty often. His last dog was dumped on him so he got her spayed and shots then she started chasing the neighbors cattle and then she just disappeared.
There are worse fates than wandering and starving and being scared. I do live in the country, and people do dump dogs and cats all the time, rationalizing that because they're animals, they will manage. No, they won't, and did I mention that they're starving and afraid? And a menace to cattle, horses, chickens (turkeys and guineas too)?

Where I lived for most of my younger life up until my early 20s was rural but close enough to town to be a convenient dumping place for unwanted pets. Despicable practice.

That happens here so much there are signs all over warning about fines for doing so. And this is a desert.

I live in a university town, and one peek dumping time is mid-May (end of spring semester). Giving your girlfriend/boyfriend a kitty or puppy for Christmas or Valentine's or Easter is soooooo cute until parents or landlords say, "Absolutely not."

The whole of the criticism is one big emotional appeal...and it's one to which I'm not entirely unsympathetic.

But we can see how it allows the anti-hunter, anti-gun, anti-rural bunch to sneak in their partisan pet peeves.
