The Kremlin admits to 1,351 Russian dead, but received 42,000 queries about Russian soldiers.

The Kremlin is of course purposefully undercounting KIA's in Ukraine, just as it enormously undercounted Russia's COVID deaths.

It sounds to me that the Ukrainian count of dead Russians is spot on. The claim over 30,000 dead.

The Gremlin doesn't care what the peasants are complaining about. Not one fig of a care.

They can't hide it forever. This invasion my turn out to be one of the worst political moves in modern history, especially considering Putin is doing this for his legacy.

Ukraine claimed to have killed around 300 per day. After 100+ days that's a lot more than 43,000!

.

It seems like each missing person complaint is being treated as a KIA to maximise Russian KIAs. It is not possible that a MIA may prompt multiple calls to the center.

The number of complaints is consistent with the fact that Russia is not bringing 90% of their dead home. They are burying them in Ukraine or leaving them where they lay for the Ukrainians to deal with. This minimizes the funerals in towns and villages all over Russia that would result if the govt. cared at all about its own people. They do not and if your child is called MIA you can be 90% sure that they have been killed in Ukraine

And how did you come about the highlighted above?

Russia’s Ministry of Defence has ordered that its military be buried in numbered mass graves, particularly in Belarus.
Source: document for "official use," signed by Deputy Minister of Defence of Russia Alexei Krivoruchko, published by the Pivnich [North] Operational Command on
Details: The document was issued in order to "counteract […] the dissemination of information from the Ukrainian side about the losses of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation through the Telegram channel Shukai Svoyih [Look for your own] controlled by the special services of Ukraine."
Quote: "I demand: That from 1 March 2022,the bodies of fallen servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are covertly removed (at night) to permanent base points and that they are buried in a mass grave (including in the Republic of Belarus) with assignment of a number.

If it is impossible to evacuate the bodies from 1 March 2022, measures should be taken to destroy them on the spot."

From Ukraine! You dont think Ukrainians should be the last person for you to use to vouch for Russian behaviour?

As of today, Ukraine claims 31,900 Russian war dead.

How many of the "missing" Russian soldiers could have been captured or deserted?

Typically, the Kremlin will list as MIA soldiers who are actually KIA to suppress the death numbers.

Ukraine and the ICRC notify Moscow regading the identities of captured Russian soldiers.
