Both North and South Korea want to reunite the peninsula, the North wants a feudal government while the South wants a democracy. Should USA intervene? Which side should control the other? Who do you agree with?
North: "Korea should be united as one, every citizen should uphold the sacred Korean customs and ways of living through the womb of Socialism. Korea should live peacefully with it's citizens through the philosophies of Juche and our Eternal President Kim Il-Sung".
South: "A Korean separation only causes more problems with the North blasting missiles on our islands, the citizens have many family members in the North since the Korean War. We should implement some Korean customs and tradition in our lifestyle, but people should choose however they want to live. Whether they want to be Socialist or democratic, they should live however they choose".
If the North was not suckling China's tit there would be no North Korea it would be just Korea. The North is a failed state already while the South is not, do the math.
The South Koreans are the most admirable Democracy on earth. I lived there when they were so poor they had NO paved streets and people lived in cardboard boxes. They progressed to the point where they are the most literate, most wired country.
If we really cared about Democracy instead of money and oil, we would assist the South in killing everyone in charge in the North and bring in relief to those poor, stunted, underfed victims in the North.
Won't happen of course. But allow me my fantasies.

North Korea is one of the worst human tragedies in history, but the South Korean government is not interested in destroying the North and they wouldnt like it if we started messing around with the DPRK like that.

Do you have any evidence they want to re-unite or is this just a made up question to discuss? Like it could be country A and Country B?
Just look it up, they both want to reunite with different theories on how and what type of nation it should be. Next time you ask a question, I'll tell you it was made up and not a real issue.

Should USA intervene?
Also, I forgot to comment on this:
No, no, no, a thousand times no. They need to figure it out on their own.
Communist or democratic, a unified Korea would be nice but they should work it out.

Why would a unified, communist North Korea be 'nice'? Is it because the existing communist North Korea is such a roaring success?
i'd love to see the suffering in NK end. however, we can't afford to do everything. it's China's responsibility much more than it is ours.
i do support whatever humanitarian aid we can give the people of NK. when other nations see us coming, we should be bringing food and medicine.
