Note: This was my first ever viewing of "Jimmy Kimmel live".

Kimmel starts out by showing the kind of compassion and humility that a morality defficient scumbag like Trump could never do.
Kimmel then tactically and eloquently showed us why the lying and hypocrisy of Trump, Carr and the Maga base represent the absolute worst that America has to offer.
Well done Jimmy!
Congrats to Trump as well. His stupidity has made Jimmy more popular than ever!
Absolutely love the fact that Jimmy very tactfully told Trump and Carr to go "FU#k themselves".

Ohio is riddled with Sinclair affiliates. Thanks for this info.

The joke about Trump's fat ass needing two seats on Epstein's plain will infuriate our DP Trump worshippers.
The joke about Trump hoping that his Epstein problems can deflect away from this debacle was also hilarious.

Most of the Sinclair "blackouts" are in Conservative markets.
Sinclair needs FCC approval for their merger.
As such, they will capitulate to Trump unless their advertising dollars are negatively affected.

...“Most of all, I want to thank the people who don’t support my show and what I believe, but support my right to share those beliefs anyway,” Jimmy Kimmel says. “I never would have imagined that Ben Shapiro, Clay Travis, Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, even my old pal Ted Cruz, who, believe it or not, said something very beautiful on my behalf. It takes courage for them to speak out against this administration. They did and they deserve credit for it.”...

Trump and the Maga cult simply won't recognize or appreciate the tactfullness and sincerity of that comment.
They prefer the type of bullying "gutter language" that Trump uses. I guess that's all an "uneducated" Maga can understand.

...“A government threat to silence a comedian the government doesn’t like is anti-American,” Kimmel says....

...Kimmel says he did not agree with Disney’s decision to pull his show, but he thanks the company, which owns ABC, for defending his right to poke fun at the powerful and for allowing him back on the air tonight. “Unfortunately, and I think unjustly, this puts them at risk,” he adds. “The president of the United States made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired from their job. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he can’t take a joke.”...

No TRUE Christian could ever support somebody like Donald J Trump.
Devil worshippers? Yes.
Perverts? Yes
Child molesters? Yes.
Racists? Yes.
Practicing Christians? No.

He really nailed Carr and TACO. Nicely done, pointing out how unAmerican they are. Just skewered them and thanked conservatives that spoke out supporting him, like Ted Cruz. @Chomsky, he also fulfilled all your wishes. And he also had addressed his widow publicly, sharing his sympathies and decrying the murder, prior to the night he was "fired."

He turned an attempt at silencing someone into a solid commentary on what what the 1st A means to our country and our freedom. 👏👏👏

And Robert DeNiro was hysterical. The Tylenol/TACO sketch was a riot as well.

God can use any person, even the most evil person. It's not like the last several elections have been a choice between an angel and a devil.

As for Kimmel, so he came out and bashed MAGA? Wow, I am absolutely shocked.

It's interesting that leftists are trying to make themselves out to be the protectors of free speech on the day YouTube and Google come out and say the Biden administration pressured them into banning users for political speech they didn't like, even though those users didn't violate their posting rules.

They blacked out Portland and Seattle...not conservative. I watched it on YouTube.

And I'll be email Sinclair.

He did not. He bashed Carr (head of FCC) and TACO.

Political speech they didnt like? Or lies and content posted by foreign interests? Cite the specifics please.

All of this is actually turning Kimmel into a sensation once again. He must be kissing conservatives' feet for making such a fuss about this that now people are watching him just to see what he might say next!

I think many will be pushing their limits now...to get ratings and also to push WH buttons. Whatever they do, even if they get fired, cancelled, etc...the video will live on, forever TACO's legacy.

And Kimmel tonight was one for the archives. 😁 Now I have to watch Colbert, I recorded his show.

Kimmel may have tried to "torch" Trump and Carr, but he also lied through this teeth. Here are the words that got him into hot water (emphasis added):

"... we hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them."

What he said last night:

"It was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man, .. Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group for the actions of what was obviously a deeply disturbed individual."

That is a clumsy attempt to gaslight that only the committed anti-Trump lackys will believe.

What he should have said was something like this:

"I was angry Trump & his supporters were trying to blame this tragedy on the left or anyone who was trans. I lost my head and did the same stupid thing in the other direction. For that, I'm sorry."

(And in what I'm sure will be a fruitless effort to stave off the whataboutism, no, I don't think Disney in any way, shape, or form should have been pressured by the Trump administration to suspend or fire Kimmel. Trump's part in this episode is far worse than anything Kimmel has done.)

I don't agree with any government intervention in this kind of matter either. I'm very much against it. Although I think this situation is a little more nuanced than how many Democrats are trying to describe it. Even had the FCC stayed completely out of it, there's still a good likelihood Kimmel would have been taken off the air. Because it sounds to me like it was a mix of advertisers, local affiliates, Disney, and Kimmel's own initial lack of cooperation that led to his suspension.

As for Kimmel, the only reason what he has to say is of any interest at all is that it is a news story. Other than that, who cares what he says? He's been bashing Trump for years on end, as his ratings continued to dwindle.

I agree with you. There was commercial pressure being placed on Disney from the affiliate networks, and I would have had no issue had that been the sole reason for Kimmel being suspended. Everything changed when Carr abused his authority and pressured Disney with his Sapranos-style comments.

I think he did very well at clarifying his position on the comment without apologizing. Skillfully done. Saying I understand your position, what you might have thought about what I said at the time, but never apologized for what he said, which is really good.
