I'm an American Jew, why is supporting Israel more important to me than my president calling me a shylock? I don't know what needs to happen for you guys to get it through your heads: insisting that American Jews are more concerned with Israel than America is anti semitism. You're not supporting us, you're using us.

Oct. 7th didn't lead to recognition of Palestine, it was Israel's actions afterwards. The world was united behind Israel on Oct. 8th, it's honestly amazing how badly the Netanyahu administration has screwed this up. They've done more damage to their own country in two years than Hamas has done in a decade.

Israel is doing quite the disservice to American Jews in creating antisemitism through its murderous campaign of killing Palestinian children. How quickly they have forgotten.

There are a few examples in history where a colonizer set out to completely eliminate an indigenous population.

The point the WSJ is making is that Hamas believes Oct 7 did that.

And that's the central idiocy and ugly dishonesty at the heart of both your/MAGA and the bulk of the left's view of the situation.

It's all middle ground. A two-state solution is the only long term answer. But trying to punish Israel by "recognizing Palestine" right now is a meaningless feel-good measure that isn't going to accomplish anything. What does it even mean to recognize the existence of a country that has no potential governing body, no way to enforce borders assigned to it by Western countries, etc.

There's a war on and it's not like the recognizers are going to send in troops. The chosen government of Gaza is a terrorist group dedicated to extermination of Jews and destruction of Israel, so they can't be the choice to lead a state. And then there's the corrupt self-enriching, ineffective, and disrespected PLO, which also isn't an option.

And of course Israel has gone beyond what it has a right and duty to do in any number of ways, while on the side encouraging Ultra-Orthos to harass Palestinians and steal land Israel previously agreed was theirs.




But here's we've got the right braying about "nothing for the Palestinians! Down with the Palestinians" and the left going "nothing for Israel! Down with Israel!", each claiming they singularly hold the one most righteously righteous moral view and everyone else supports evil.

Why it's almost like people are more interested in feeling morally superior than addressing the actual cluster**** of a situation over there.
