Kerry condemns Russia's 'incredible act of aggression' in Ukraine

If he said nothing you'd criticise him for that. If he sent our forces, you may like that, but it would be very costly and I wouldn't. Better you're unhappy then me.
Hell, I'd be happy if he bothered to attend the NSA meeting that was actually DISCUSSING it. And since you keep missing it is the ADMINISTRATION that threatened war in Syria. It is the administration that is drawing these imaginary red lines or making threats of 'serious consequences' and announcing no options are off the table. Its kinda cute how consistently people ignore the guy MAKING the threats and then jump up screaming about the 'conservatives'.

This is the snapshot from the latest top secret Obama administration foreign policy meeting showing Kerry and Obama's top adviser. Apparently it is some guy from California and he actually appreciates being laughed at.

The part that I find hilarious is the U.S telling Russia not to invade other countries on trumped up pre-text.
What's so funny about that?

Are you thinking that Obama should kick Putins ass?

Be able to if necessary, yes. As it stands he couldn't, physically or politically. He's already shown his belly to Putin a few times.

Whats so bad about Russia? Are you serious? :lamo

Yes. (aside from them being a halfway decent country unlike us)

Good morning, bubba. :2wave:

Reminds me of the old saying..."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." . SOS Kerry isn't having one of his better months so far.
Hi Pol.
Yeah.
And the thing is, he may not even believe it, but besides the global warming nonsense they've also got the Obamacare-hasn't-hurt-anyone agitprop going on with an eye toward mitigating what they think will be November election losses.
If nothing else, Kerry is just as good a little soldier as Reid, Murray, et al.

aside from them being a halfway decent country unlike us

Now you are begging the question. Why bother wasting peoples time with posts like these?

Here's one taken when Obama skipped the Ukraine briefing last week ...

Yes. (aside from them being a halfway decent country unlike us)

The Russians murdered 40 million people in the 20th Century. Something basically wrong with that.

Oh come on, apdst, it's not like Russia is controlled by a quasi-dictator with a near Soviet-era mindset.

Oh?.......................

You sure are obsessed over appearances. Who gives a **** if someone is laughing?

Because of the Obama Administration, the United States and it's armed forces look weak. That appearance of weakness encourages the bad guys.

It's the same appearance of weakness that encouraged Hitler to invade Poland.

I'm not making an argument.

You made a narrow argument (the U.S. is not a decent country) which begged the question: why?

I'm not going to talk up Russia or their actions here. It's not a system I would want to live with, nor do I particularly like Putin at all. But he is a very strong politician, much in the mold of our greatest presidents.

As to the Ukraine issue, it's a tricky question and I'm not familiar enough with what locals think as to ownership and country. Heck, wasn't too long ago the US went down to Panama and ousted the government there because we had "interests".

Picky Picky

No kidding. The Ukraine has 45 million people. Murdering 40 million would still leave 5 million Ukrainians around, so it's not all bad. Besides, it's not like Putin did it. He's intent on making his own record - to his credit. Wadya think of gays getting a shot at marriage in Kentucky?

This is a Kerry thread so unless ... hey wait a minute are you saying ..................

Yes. We had to reclaim the Panama Canal so we could give it to China. What could go wrong with that?

If they win, you mean?

No! If they occupy the place for a decade, kill a couple hundred thousand civilians, waste a trillion dollars of their treasure, get several thousand of their soldiers killed, and then leave the place in ruin. Only a war hawk would call that winning.

None of that is the issue whatsoever.

The issue is that the Ukraine government gave up their nuclear weapons in exchange for a vow that we would protect the integrity of their borders. It turns out that was a chump move in which Russia, the USA and Britain tricked the Ukraine government into vulnerability to invasion and conquest - which has now happened.

There is no possible disarmament or non-nuclear proliferation agreement to be reached with any country in the future as it has been proven it is just a trick to try to convince the leader and country to voluntarily expose themselves to invasion. Why would any country make an agreement to not develop and keep nuclear weapons knowing such an agreement is worthless?

That is the issue, not the Crimea. Care to argue with that?

I thought we were talking about your dissatisfaction with Obama on the Ukraine?

Be able to if necessary, yes. As it stands he couldn't, physically or politically. He's already shown his belly to Putin a few times.

Asked a different way. Do you think Obama should be putting our troops up for Ukraine?
