Kellyanne conway falsely states secret intel confirms trump tower russia wiretap

Whatmdid she lie about?

She implies that the Prez has "intel" that Obama tapped Trump in Trump Tower. That is a serious accusation against a former President....an historical accusation, never before made by any President.

We know it's not true, because: (1) The President does not have authority to order surveillance on a civilian, so it would be a felony to have done so; (2) Obama would have to have a bevy of people willing to commit felonious acts (after Watergate, the Iran Contra Affair, etc.) and who did not leak that info; (3) Obama's spokesman has made an official response for the record, stating it's "simply false," (4) Former head of FSA has stated that the accusation is baseless and obviously Trump trying to deflect from his Russian troubles; (5) The FBI has publicly requested that the DOJ come out and state for the record that the accusation is false (meaning that there is no intel of such surveillance, since the FBI would know about it).

Obama should sue Trump. It's slander to falsely accuse someone of a crime. Trump should also be removed from office. He's losing it even more than people thought he would. He's flailing about, unsure of what to do, striking out at anyone and everyone. The free press, Obama, intelligence agencies, Mexico, Australia, China, individual senators. The only ones he seems to not strike out against publicly are his inner circle people, but now we know that he's now striking out against them in private. He's losing it and has gotten extremely paranoid.

Bush was engaging in warrantless wiretaps without any sort of legal authorization. That is a serious accusation against a former President....an historical accusation, never before made by any President. It turned out to be true and even expanded under Obama. Please stop with the pearl-clutching.

Worse, Trump does this while claiming that anything negative reported about him is "fake news", even if what is reported are the findings of the intelligence community, based on actual evidence that they have accumulated.

The title is pretty misleading. I'm no fan of Kellyanne, but this was just her usual dance around the question stuff.

Trump is PooPoo for Cuckoo Puffs about fake news but he probably has some ground on Obama's Justice Department doing wiretaps. He didn't just pull this outta of his ying yang, unless he really is nanners, in which case a rubber truck will haul him off soon.

Remember this...Obama never had any blame cast on him. He even said he had a "scandal free' presidency.

Whatmdid she lie about?

She didn't appear to actually say anything at all.
So, it's kind of hard for there to be a lie in there.

She did try to imply that Trump used secret knowledge to reach his conclusion.
But, she didn't actually say as much.

1) The pr Sidney does have the authority. A poster on another thread posted the pertinent law.

2) The 60+ people who were convicted in the Watergate Affair didn't leak anything. They caught the burglars red-handed.

3) Would you expect the Obama spokesperson to say, "Jiggers! Ya' caught him."

4) There's that...

5) The FBI has done no such of a thing. (That's how mom would word it...makes me think of her.) The FBI might know about it if it were done above-board. But regardless, you have an anonymous source saying that. It's not Comeynsaying that. Why doesn't he speak for himself? He doesn't seem to have much trouble doing that.

You are blinded by your hatred.

He's not the person(s) acting like Obama did something wrong simply because Trump said Obama did something wrong. He's not the person(s) acting like the possibility that Obama did something wrong should be considered merely because Trump tweeted.

I don't see why the misdeeds of past Presidents provide the basis for according any weight to Trump's accusations. Those misdeeds might be relevant if the argument was over whether or not it was theoretically possible for Obama to have engaged in the alleged shenanigans, but he existence of a theoretical possibility isn't any sort of evidence that this possibility came to pass.
