I can't find an article to verify - but a radio host mentioned that Kayla Mueller's death has been confirmed.
You know what I feel about that?
1) If she was actually killed by Jordanian shelling - then it was the most merciful end she ever would have met. I won't hold it against Jordan. Almost a mercy killing, really. Being killed any other way - beheading / crucifixion / burning alive - after being tortured and abused every day - would be by far more horrific.
2) I fear that being killed from Jordanian efforts is not how she died - which is disturbing to say the least.
[edit: it is confirmed - statement released by the White House. http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2015/02/10/statement-president-death-kayla-jean-mueller
"It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the death of Kayla Jean Mueller. On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I convey our deepest condolences to Kayla’s family – her parents, Marsha and Carl, and her brother Eric and his family – and all of those who loved Kayla dearly. At this time of unimaginable suffering, the country shares in their grief." ]
