Karen Bass renounces her praise for Fidel Castro (1 Viewer)

I can’t believe she’s even being considered. Same with Harris. It’s been between Demings and Duckworth for me for months.

I don't recall hearing the name. At any rate, it seems a bit absurd to chastise someone for saying they were dead wrong about something they were dead wrong about in the past, unless one is upset that they no longer support the thing they can be attacked for.

Is there evidence she might be lying about her recantation? That might be a basis. But unless there's something like that....

No, my "hope" to win the election is that Trump is the most thoroughly corrupt and possibly also most inept president ever to disgrace the office, and that he has done absolutely nothing to attract new supporters choosing rather to quintuple down on every ugly act while betting on a combination of voter suppression and foreign interference to get re-election.

It's my last tiny bit of faith in the miserable species of bloodsuckers that evolved on this cold rock called "human beings", homo sapien.




A cardboard cutout is an improvement. A dog turd that has festered for ten days in 100F temps and 85% humidity is better than Trump. You would be extremely hard pressed to find anyone worse to nominate. Trump is an utterly corrupt pedo-peeping tom, the guy who bragged about walking in on kids as young as 15 naked because he owned the pageants they were participating in, who has 25 accusations of sexual assault leveled against him, who raw-dogged a porn star around his son's birth, lied about it, got caught, and about which Trumpists failed to care.

Trump, a scum-sucking bastard who withheld congressionally approved aid for Ukraine against Russia to try to strong arm them into announcing sham investigations into Biden's son. Remember how you lot said Russia was our "greatest geopolitical foe" after Romney told you to, because Romney wanted to attack Obama as "weak on Russia"? Yeah, probably not. Probably it was someone else. Just like the birthers were always someone else, nevermind that for nearly a decade 40% of you were birthers and 20% "not sure".

It seems the lady changed her opinion of Castro in order to be picked for VP.

So why is it OK for Trump to praise a murdering dictator like Putin, but Bass can't praise Castro? Please explain this contradiction to me.

It could be she changed her opinion a long time ago, but what would have been the reason to announce that? I understand it is fun to call her a liar and opportunist. :roll:

That's a fair question. Putin and Castro are both murdering leftist scum, cut from the same cloth.

The difference is Trump has to deal with Putin, and it benefits America to maintain peace with Russia, whereas Bass praised Castro because she agrees with his ideology and by extension his actions.

Yeah, Trump "deals" with Putin alright. He is a traitor that allows Putin to put bounties on our troops in Afghanistan, no ****ing questions asked.

And how do you know that Trump doesn't agree with Putin's ideology? That's nothing but an assumption on your part.

Yes and No. Oppo research on her is more extensive. I would prefer her be in a foreign relations capacity. I’d probably carry over some of the better actors into 2021 to try to get a better and smoother transition.

For some odd reason, the name Condi Rice is still out there for me, though she loves being a Professor at Stanford. Standing with your potential cabinet, including mentioning the stolen seat of M. Garland at their virtual convention, would be a good look imho.

Ha ha .. of course she did, and then claimed she was unaware of how many people despised Castro ... like in the state of Florida, a key state for the 2020 election.
